I'm officially projecting Illinois St (and UNI) out of the NIT:

    Last 8 in:
    Massachusetts
    Dayton
    Iowa
    Stanford
    Illinois
    LSU
    UCLA
    Clemson

    Last 8 out:
    Weber St
    Illinois St
    Cleveland St
    Northern Iowa
    Arkansas
    Oregon St
    Maryland
    Tulsa

For the record, I see UNI in the NIT and ISU out (ISU in CBI).

I don't see Iowa making the NIT- Their RPI is horrible for the NIT- 130, their SOS is 72, and their Non-conf SOS is 138, compared with UNI's RPI of 72, SOS of 53, and Non-conf SOS of 14.

Also- Iowa played Northern Iowa this season, and they were blown out by UNI 80-60. That was the biggest margin of victory by UNI all year.

I have UNI in "last 4 in", and ISU in "first 4 out".

As you can tell, I took a somewhat cynical approach to the NIT. Resume be darned, 8-10 in the Big 10 isn't missing the NIT, just like .500 in the ACC (Clemson) isn't missing, either. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong I guess, but the commitee has to show me they're capable of not having massive bias before I believe it.

Iowa had to be the last team in. Not sure how they got in. I am shocked the NIT selection committee would pass on Weber State and Lillard.

              But we will take it.

Good luck. ISU has a tough draw, but the MVC teams need to make some noise in these tournaments.

Thanks Da Coach. I am glad you are allowing some lee way with some crow here. I know you and I got into a few months ago about ISU being a good team or not.

Now don't jump to conclusions. I'll admit I was wrong if ISU wins at Mississippi.

Ha Ha. I think we opened some eyes when we beat Wichita in St. Louis and played Creighton within a hair of the Big Dance.

It's good experience for our guys, especially since we don't have any seniors.

Absolute tragedy averted; everyone can come out now.

Glad to see some of our "prognosticators" on this board were wrong (what a shock)-- and that UNI and ISU got in the NIT---great that the Valley is climbing back and getting more respect. Now go out and make us proud WSU, CU, ISU, and UNI!!
                            Bradley football--undefeated again this year

Actually - quite a few of those on this board saw that ISU played well enough on the final two days
to catch the eyes of those making the selections...
...maybe even more here than among the ISU fans....

with just a couple games in March - then I'd have to think ISU may have played themselves into an NIT bid...

generally playing yourself into the NIT is a move down but in this case it may be better than
                              what they were headed towards....
