        No - Mark Vershaw is an adminstrative assistant at ISU --
        here's the guy I was thinking of - the girl's basketball coach at Peoria Christian HS - and one of his players last year was Courtney Allenbaugh - who transferred to Morton and was the 2nd best player on a fine Morton HS basketball team

          Ahhhhhh! Think he would fork that job over for a chance to coach his Alma Mater? hahahaha I seriously don't know how the coaching carousel works at the HS level so I guess a component of that is listing the position on peoriahelpwanted.com hahaha

              EP needs a lot of help. They did not win a game this year against a team from the United States. The only win they got was when they beat a club team from Australia. Lots of bad ingredients surrounding the program right now.

                From what I heard I thought they had a good boys coach at EP.

                  @Camelot: PLEASE GOD YES!

                  @BUB, I agree, I don't know what's wrong with the team, but they just didn't play together or really believe that they could win imho.

                  @Chico, I'll keep my opinions to myself in case there was anyone from my graduating class that can recognize me

                    Isn't your graduating class allowed to have opinions?

                      yes -and the problem starts and extends all the way down to the grade school level...
                      If they want to have good HS teams they need to organize and run good youth programs and work seriously on a major problem that occurs at the middle school level where the smaller elementary schools feed into the HS and intense bitterness and jealousies occur.
                      I have known many talented kids who would have done plenty for EP athletically, but "things" happen and kids never get thechance - leavng the HS with little talent left....

                        Well, the Coach's son was in my class and I just don't know hahaha. I never cared much for Coach Kelch, or much of the team, but we were really good my first and second years! I don't know though. Just upsetting coming home and watching my school do so awfully.

                        @ Tornado, if our basketball program was HALF as good as the baseball farm program we'd be one of the best in the conference.

                          The people I know think the good coach was the one who was railed out of town 5 years ago. Sounds like new coach wanted to coach his son who was very talented. After he graduated the passion was gone and the program is a mess. I know there are a lot of "voices" in E. Peoria that want to be heard.

                            His son was much better at baseball, that's why he's on scholarship at ISU.
