    Chill out CBF, just askin!

Guess I should have asked you first if my post was necessary!
Most posts on this Forum aren't necessary IMHO!

    FWIW....
Were BU's fortunes this season helped any with SS stat line:
18.5 min per game, 3.5 points per game (34.6% Avg; 48.6% FT Avg), and 3.1
    RB per game?

Could have given these minutes to DH and MK who may both not be here next season and let SS develop? Would BU have finished 6-26 or 1-15 without SS?

Since the 2012-13 recruiting class was going to be thin on numbers anyway, why not push SS back to the 2012-13 class?

He could have always came back into play last season if needed due to injury.

Wouldn't have hurt anything with the 2011-12 season BU had....

I didn't mean for my post to come off as harsh. I was just stating a fact that most players are better when they are given an extra year to develop. It seemed unnecessary, to me, to include that point in the article.

That being said, I kind of see your point, but at the same time, I doubt Geno thought the team was going to be this bad. Some fans thought we might be, but not most people. No team ever thinks they're going to be the worst team in the conference. Why would we sacrifice this year if we thought we had a good chance of being competitive? Yes the future might be a little bit brighter, but if Shayok was good enough to start his freshman year, then why sacrifice this season for the future. Maybe the expectations for this season were unrealistically lofty, but they're was talent on this team.

Also, I'm sure that at the start of the year, Geno didn't plan on having any of the players leave after the season, besides the freshman. Why give extra minutes to players who have a good chance of leaving if you didn't expect them to leave? Maybe by the middle of the season he might have known, but I can't imagine him thinking that anyone but the seniors were going before the season.

I hope this doesn't across as a personal attack. It's not. You have a right to your opinion. I'm just stating why I believe otherwise.

I don't know specifically. I would guess within the month.

              ? who knows.
The only thing I can say with certainty is that there have not been any commitments today, yet.

There is a recruit scheduled to visit next week. Maybe we might hear something then.

Didn't mean to pin you down DC, was just worried when nothing out there, perhaps another recruit had slipped through BU's net again...

Another nice article on Yuba College -- I hope we smooth over the situation and keep an eye on all the talent there...

One other thing - USA Today quotes Coach Geno Ford....
"Ford said the MVC probably was better than he imagined looking from the outside as the coach at Kent State
                  before coming to Peoria.
..."When I got here last April, I knew how important the program was to a lot of people. But I was a little naive.
It's on par with what you would find at a Kentucky or at an Indiana."

                  Speaking of Yuba....

after a great season in 2011-12, they are hopeful of another great season in 2012-13...here's an article on their expectations...

                  one other story on Yuba

BTW - a kid from Yuba that Bradley might have been interested in at one time - Spencer Butterfield, is now at Utah State..
here's a summer report on him as he was playing in scrimmage games.......
"Spencer Butterfield – Absolutely tore it up out there today. Dropped in 29 points. Hit 5 three pointers. I didn’t keep track of misses, but he didn’t miss many.
I’d say he shot over 60% from downtown and I don’t remember him missing many two pointers. He got to the hoop with ease several times. Played with toughness
and ran the floor. Played some solid defense. I was most impressed by him today. He also had 5 boards and 3 assists.

Sean Harris – DNP. He was there in basketball shorts and a nice pink Aggie shirt. He’s a pretty big kid. He took shots at times while the teams were on the other side of the court.
After the scrimmages he went out and did a little running and put up some shots. He is very adept at hitting the three point shot (at least in practice).
He was hitting them with consistency. Appears to be a good FT shooter as well."

Disclaimers: 1 - As has been proven over and over, ratball means pretty much nothing. Some players are ratball stars and never contribute when the real season starts. 2 - This is based solely on my opinions. I am not an expert, and according to some have zero basketball credibility.…

Utah State moves next year to the Mountain West - so they may be playing in a higher rated conference than we will.......
