I wish him well -- he'll have to go D-II, juco, or try to get a hardship waiver from NCAA or else he'll have to sit out yet another full season...

I wish nothing but the best for Devon. By all accounts, he's a good kid who has been through a lot in his life so far. Good luck in whatever the future brings, Devon!

Not a surprise. Best of luck to Devon.

Now the interesting part of the off season begins!

Best of luck to him, but now since he is gone are we allowed to talk about this? What happened exactly; was he just not good enough or what...I remember people being pretty excited about his commitment last year.

He was good enough to receive a full scholarship offer from Bo Ryan to Wisconsin when he was a sophomore. I suspect his play was seriously affected by the nearly 2 years he missed playing high school ball, and he just wasn't ready for D1 and for Coach Ford's system. I think he would be best suited to spend a year at a juco, so he doesn't have to sit out another year somewhere, and I am sure he'll get another opportunity elsewhere.

If you were told and I dont know if this is the case but if you were told you dont fit the system and will see as much PT next yr as this yr wouldnt you "request" a release! He derserved more of a shot this yr even if hes outta shape, or whatever the reasons were for him not being part of the frontline rotation, dang he might have missed some bunnies lol anyway I wish him the best!

Yes. But there is a big difference between being told your scholarship will not be renewed, and being told you might not play much and it's in your best interest to let us help you find another situation that's right for you.

I heard from someone usually pretty reliable, that Devon was behind the guy we had from Oklahoma last year.

                          That says a lot.

Lets hope Devon goes to a suitable place to get an education and play basketball.

I suppose, though, that would be hard to assess as they were never on the same court at the same time - and they each had different coaching staffs with the exception of WS
