    How good is Butler?

    Winners over Indiana and Notre Dame, the Bulldogs are currently beating the volunteers in the semis of the preseason NIT.

    Way to go Butler. Another nice win for a "midmajor" over the majors.
    Butler (picked 6th in the Horizon Conference) beat Tennessee 56-44.
    They will meet the winner of Gonzaga-North Carolina in the NIT final.
    From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
    "Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."

    And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
    "Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

        At this point, yes. Indiana is not nearly as good as everyone said they would be. Purdue still has some growing up to do, but at least they get the W in Maui against the Sooners. ISU and Evansville have shown signs of life, but are far behind.

          Tennessee is added to the list of those BCS schools that are exposed.
          Sure Butler is good, but are they the #1 rated team?
          #1 in RPI?

          Many of these high ranked teams are simply overrated.
          Plus Bruce Pearl doesn't have so many of Buzz Peterson's players to carry him.



          PS Boston College loses again.


          And Gonzaga (unranked) is leading North Carolina near the end of the first half.

                Butler was picked to finish 6th in a weak Horizon League. I'll be shocked if they aren't contending for the title.
