WIU's offense was brutal the final 15 minutes of regulation...no real way to sugarcoat it. The defense was still good enough to win the game with even one more made shot. 7 points in the final 15:26 of regulation on 3-17 shooting from the field and 1-2 from the line.

This was a classic Coach Mo game and a lot of fun to watch. I guess I love good defense after watching quite the lack of defense in a lot of our games this year. Coach Mo knows he couldn't run with SDS, so this is exactly the kind of game plan he needed to win the game. They just couldn't make the plays on offense down the stretch to seal the deal. I remember at least 2 wide open 3's that probably would have ended the game in the last 8 minutes that WIU just couldn't hit.
Congrats to WIU on a great run and great game last night.

so does Nagy -- it CAN be done even with D-II talent
Congrats to Mo on a great season - hope to see him in the NIT but more likely CIT
The two things that they lacked were a bit more consistent outside shooting options and a big banger down low...
They may have both with Billy Mo coming back next year and Michael Ochereobia coming in...
and a few comments from Mo and others are absolutely correct - that this amounted essentially as a series of HOME GAMES for South Dakota State...
the Summit, if they want to move to the BIG TIME, really should look into moving their conference tourney into the 21st century and
stop playing all their games in their equivalent of Frostbite Falls........Last edited by tornado; 03-07-2012, 11:02 AM.
