"some players may not be contributing but they have had no opportunity"
come on, they practice with everyone else
Thank you! I'm glad someone called him out for that. I've heard tornado say before that we need to trust what the coaches see in practice that we fans never get the chance to see or know. What's changed tornado?
Gentlemen,
.
1. There will be a minimum 2 current scholarship players who will soon be talked to about leaving. The two are not D1 players and cannot fit into the system. Coach Ford was brought here to win basketball games in D1 and at least get BU back in the top 50 in the country, minimum. You do pay him what he is making to hope and do the best you can with what you have currently, no. You want to go to that top 50 level, you dont have the horses. These two will not play. Maybe 3, maybe 4 and they may leave on their own too knowing they are not going to play and how bad do they want to play, not practice, college ball at whatever level.
2. Regarding Milos being a senior, well, here is the deal. It's $35,000 a year at Bradley, if I was Coach Ford i would tell the Pres that you are paying me $750 grand a year to win Basketball games and Milos isn't getting us there. He is a senior and if he wants to stay at BU and get his degree, I will pay his way, the scholarship is worth it. If he stays he will not play.
3. Remember, Coach Ford's three, SS, DH and JC are really his, but he had what, a couple of months to find them? was he really recruiting them at Kent State? who knows, doubt it. So, if the arent working out how much time did you really have then? Now, you have had time and we will see. JC has been a nice surprise to many.
4. BU could have 2 to 4 scholarships in addition to what we have already recruited and I bet Coach Ford has a list of guys he is recruiting now to fill a minimum two spots. Maybe a total of 4 to 6 new players, maybe half JUCO's and we have a much better season next year and go 500.
5. I think Coach Ford really likes NW, still needs more weight, but has a good shot, runs the floor well, pretty coordinated for a seven footer and has pretty good foot work.

There, chew on that for awhile.....
Go BU
+1. Pretty much my opinion as well.
Thinking is the hardest work, that is why so few people do it. -Henry Ford
Yeah...I've been in college for a while now and I'm pretty sure that awesomest is not a word. -Andrew E.
For the record- your suggestion that Geno or the school give Milos money to go to school so they don't have to use one of their 13 allowed athletic scholarships is a violation of the NCAA rules.
I know that, just making a point..............I hope he stays and finishes his education at BU and becomes a BU Grad which is more important for his future than his basketball.
From a BU basketball persepctive, BU needs to move on with its program. He didnt play (if at all) this year and with the changes and additions does it appear he wil play at all next year?
Tough question and answer for the B Ball staff, the Athletic Admin and the rest involved.
I think we all wish the best for all student athletes.
At least ONE guy who can make 40% of his shots from 20 feet out would be nice. Heck, we only have one guard returning who shot better than .355% from inside or outside of 20 feet. That's rough....

Technically yes but would be very easy to get around that. Just work a deal with the President that the $35,000 would be paid back as a school donation once Geno is done at BU. It's dirty play but no doubt it goes on at a lot of schools.

Yep. He thought they were both good enough to play in the MAC.
Right......he also thinks SS and DH are good enough to play in the Valley. I guess they're better than DSE and JP?
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12
