I cannot remember Bradley ever running a player out of town without both parties agreeing that a transfer was the best option , these players come here to actually play and if they are not going to for whatever reason then it is in their best interests to go to a school that gives them a better chance at playing.
There have been a few players that were asked to leave because of conduct.

Real fan, I am certain this will be done properly. No player will be released without his approval. There are always a lot of players who leave a school when a new coach is hired, and the year after a coaching change, there are a lot of players who leave as well.

Geno was BU head coach in June of 2011 when he signed five players in his recruiting class...Crawford, Stewart, Wells, Shayok, and Hodges.

Hmmm...where have we heard this exact same story -- yes..the kid in NY, Jeremy Lin -- just maybe it's possible the coaches aren't always right 100% of the time.
Happened with JL in 2006 when after years of using JJ Tauai as only a deep bench player - he decided to give JJ a try as a starter and main player - and it helped us to the Sweet Sixteen!

Les didn't put JJ Tauai into the starting lineup on a whim. He didn't sit back one day and go "well, JJ is showing me absolutely nothing in practice day after day after day...but I'm gonna go ahead and just throw him into the starting lineup and see if something magical happens."

JJ Tauai earned additional playing time through his increased efforts and improved performance in practice...and once he showed some of those same things in game situations, his role expanded further from there.

          That's how it works.

Coaches don't have jobs very long if they decide to just play kids in games who prove to be completely overmatched and unable to compete at this level in practice day after day after day.

Please explain I must be confused. DS and Wells I thought signed in Nov. of 2010. Correct me if I'm wrong. It's really no big deal as I think Wells is going to be a big help someday and we may never know if DS would have helped us.

WOW guys! You are talking about 18-21 year old like they are commodities. They are not being paid to play, scholarship non-withstanding. I've been pretty much proud of the way BU in the past has handles players and I hope that we continue to play fair. You see I'm in the, let's be patient, do things with class and above board team. I don't know about you but if I went around axing kids who have done everything required because I want to win now mentality, I'd never sleep. I do love my sleep!

Is it exceedingly harder to get thoroughbred, or even quarterhorse, players in Peoria than in Omaha and Wichita? Or for that matter Cedar Falls, Bloomington Normal, Springfield Mo, Des Moines, Terre Haute, or Evansville?

These are the guys BU needs to out recruit to start with...

In a sense college players are commodities and I am curious as to what road will be taken in the off season. If players leave and are assisted with finding a place where they can get an education and playing time, then I am fine with some things... If things happen to upper classmen on the team, then I have some major concerns.

Umm I seem to remember that Wells and Stewart were JL's recruits.... A bit of a stretch to say Geno brought them in...

For the record, when I said there are five players on this Bradley team that were recruited by Geno, I was including DSE/JP and not DS/NW.

I realize he recruited DSE and JP to play at Kent State in his system there. I doubt he changed systems when he came to Bradley, so I believe it's fair to say he recruited five of the players on this team.

Heck, if we going that route Geno also recruited some guys on SIU, ISU, Missouri State, etc. He recruits a lot of people. Every school does. If we are going to worry about which players are "whose" then its probably best to stick with the guys he has signed to play at Bradley. But it doesn't really matter.

On this topic, the coaches aren't wasting anytime:

Geno has had a full year to evaluate the hand he was dealt, I hope the AD and administration give him the opportunity to make the moves he feels are necessary to bring in a team he feels gives Bradley the best chance to succeed in the short and long term. If that means cleaning house, so be it.

Athletes are given yearly scholarships, they understand that nothing longer term is promised to them. It's a harsh reality and I'd hate to see any of these good young men sent packing, just like I wouldn't want to see us bring in poor students or problem children, but I also don't want to wait 2-3 more years to transition out portions the current roster if Geno feels it doesn't fit what he's trying to do.

I would also think that 2-3 guys on the current roster would see the handwriting on the wall and possibly leave on their own, which would be disappointing but probably the right decision for both parties. I'm fairly certain at least one player has already made the decision and is just waiting out the semester to make it official.
