Without mentioning any names, we have renewed the scholarship of a player who is now an upper classman. I do not blame the current staff for this. But, if this person is on track to graduate, I have a problem not renewing this person's scholarship.

wrong according to Tyrone Cole-Scott himself ......
he spoke with Dave Reynolds and said he "felt pressured to leave" but was NOT kicked out...
      - even the hostile TCS said he was given the chance to stay but that things were going to be tough on him, thus he chose to leave...

I thought back then and still believe today, that the pressure that was placed on TCS was a way to get him to leave. So in a sense, while not being asked directly by JL and the staff to leave, there were plans in place to create situations in which things would be hard for TCS to stay. Given that, TCS was basically run off. I don't remember the RA situation, but there may have been good reasons as for him to leave.

I couldn't agree more with you. I'm not looking for Wells to be our savior because he won't but our inside game is SO POOR he can't hurt us. He and Egolf already are an improvement over AT and JP. Thats not a knock on AT. I thought he was much better then JP the second half of the season. Not sure where JP went the second half but not much help.I understand some people want everyone to stay and work hard to get better but reality says if your not that talented you may get better but still not be at the level you need to be to compete. I could play golf everyday but I'm NEVER gonna beat Air Petey. Just a fact folks we need better players period.

but they don't run the Kentucky Derby in Peoria thus it is exceedingly hard to lure thoroughbreads to BU as Geno probably already knows -
as always we will need to build a team from under-the-radar kids, role players, a few fortunately landed stars and coach 'em up...
plus we must get the best local talent to stay here

I cant make people be patient but if you are a member of the short attention span theatre crowd then I suggest coming back in a couple years. It takes time for a coach to build a program on his likeness, have 2 or 3 recruiting cycles and put his stamp on the program.

I dont know why this is hard to grasp.
I agree Newman, obessing over who brought in who or if we finished tied for 9th when we did in fact play in the 10 spot last year makes no difference to me. What makes a difference is Geno is now responsible and I'm leaving it up to him to turn this thing around anyway he wants to do it legally. If he can't in 5 years ,well we were looking for a coach last year this time I'll bet we could do it again. I just hope Geno can get it turned around and we don't have to . P.S. Shaunguth JC and DH were the only two Geno brought in. JL was in on SS and Geno closed that deal. So get your facts straight before making posts that are not factual.

You could make the same argument for Springfield, MO or Omaha yet they still get better talent.

First, your facts are wrong. SS is a Geno recruit. Yes, JL recruited him in the fall of 2010, but dropped off him when it was determined SS's academic status would not allow him to be admitted to Bradley. The previous coaches had not had any contact with him since mid-last season. Geno recruited him independently, got his commitment, and signed him.
Plus, Geno met with and evaluated the other 2 and recommended both keep their commitments to Bradley and reaffirmed that he wanted them.
That clearly makes 3 players Geno recruits, no matter how you look at them, but in reality, all 5 are his players, and he wanted them.
I have no problem with any changes that are coming, but let's stop trying to rewrite history just to continue the blame game on the previous coach.

I'm not really ok with "running off" any players that want to stay at Bradley, but especially seniors.
I hear you and understand where your coming from but alot is at stake here. Like a mans job. Why should he be saddled with anothers mistakes. As far as the senior ,I to would hate to see that happen but if they could find a school that wasn't a D-1 he would not have to sit out a year. If he can't play on this team he needs to be at a D-11 or D-111 school where he could be a big help. Wish it didn't come down to this but this is a business. Look at all the empty seats this year if you don't think so. People are not going to pay good money to watch a poor product. Please don't take this wrong,I'm not blaming the would be senior for this situation. In fact, the blame lies more on the abilities of the people getting the playing time NOT the people who rarely saw the floor.

Wells is not going to be a savior next season, we need to find a rugged one that is physical , also need a couple of good 3 point shooters, I think Egolf could be a better player as a 4 but worry more about his injury slowing him down, cannot figure out J.P. and his downhill slide.

DC ,I agree with you on the SS situation but it would be pretty stupid on Geno's part to run DES and JP off when they were getting minutes on our team last year. That would not make any sense at all but HE did not recruit them or sign them to a letter of intent at BU. Your just playing with words. To run DSE and JP off when he got the job would not even have been an option. So If it makes you feel better spin it any way you want.

Real fan JP is a mystery to me and I agree Wells will not be our Stultz next year. If he is we're going to be very happy but I wouldn't count on it.

Stutz only averaged 4.2 ppg/2.6rpg so those numbers are obtainable (although it will be hard for Wells to score 14 against Bradley ;/ )

The pure and simple fact is we had 1 player in the top 15 in the valley for post season honors, not first or second team but honorable mentione. This has to improve from year to year if we are to be competitive
