Right.....and believe it or not, but there are actually people out there that have said we should get rid of every scholarship player and start over.

      Yeah. Welcome to college sports.

We know what our guys are capable of and by judging from this season its not very good. If they can't produce I am more than willing to give their playing time to someone new.
Well let me just quote the late-great Colonel Sanders, who said..."I'm too drunk to taste this chicken."

Just like the Cubs right. Theo should have signed every big name FA and then that would have fixed it.

Nope he did the logical thing and wiped the slate clean. Started working on prospects.

        Quit putting band-aids on.

Give them one year to contribute and then try to find that quality replacement next spring?

You honestly feel that we had quality players this season?

Right, because he felt they fit his system. I'm guessing his "system" we keep hearing about hasn't changed since then. That's 5 of 13 scholarship players. Next season, it should be a minimum 7 of 13 players. Even though that's the majority of the roster, I'll still give Geno a pass on the win/loss record until 2013-14.

Yes. You honestly feel we didn't have any and that all scholarships should be pulled?

Yes it happens in college sports... No doubt.. I think your opinion ignores the politics on the Hilltop.

IMHO, you are comparing professional sports to mid-major college basketball which is not a valid comparison.

Stop saying "pulled." Athletic scholarships are year-to-year. There is one player under scholarship that I would definitely not renew (really two). That is from what I've seen on the court. It's possible that the player is making great strides in practice, and the coach staff sees great potential in him. I don't think this is the case. If they aren't showing any progress and clearly can't compete and this level, then they should go play at a level better suited to them.

some may not be contributing despite plenty opportunities...
Regardless - we need to be carefull and help those who want to leave find the right place - and that's the way it's done right........
Those non-playing, non-contributing players had hundreds and hundreds of hours worth of opportunities in practice to prove they deserved game time. They didn't take advantage of those opportunities....therefore, they didn't play. Pretty simple really.

Pulled/renewed....whatever. Replace "pulled" with "not renewed" in my previous post.

When exactly do these scholarships get "renewed" and when are the players made aware that they'll be back next season. Since they are "renewed", I'm guessing the player has no say in the matter at all.

Yes, your probably right that it is against the grain for hilltop politics but you gotta shake things up.

I know, I know. Its pro vs college but its one of the best comparisons that I could think of off the top of my head.

For the record, I'm not ok with "running off" players if they would like to remain at Bradley. If they agree to move on, then I feel the staff should help them find a place to go. I do not expect a senior to move on or even be asked to do so.

Yes...It happened with Tyrone Cole-Scott and Rashad Austin...were you OK with it then?
