Not a whole lot to pick from but I think I know who the media guys are pointing at....
3 players are already gone (TB. AT, Charonn) that leaves just 11 returnees (5 of whom are Geno's recruits) and 13 total on roster next year with Pickett & Bell - 7 of whom are Geno's...

Right....and 3 of those 6 players will be seniors and another redshirted this season so he gets a pass for not contributing. One of those 6 was our most improved player and will be very important next season as a junior. The last of those 6 was a freshman.

Like I said, are people ok with "running off" players after just 1 season and are they ok with "running off" players that will be seniors?

For the record, I'm not ok with "running off" players if they would like to remain at Bradley. If they agree to move on, then I feel the staff should help them find a place to go. I do not expect a senior to move on or even be asked to do so.

Why would a player want to ride the pine again? As painful as it was to watch as a fan, it had to be 1000x tougher as a non-contributing player. There's plenty of places to get a fresh start with basketball and an education.

Nobody wants to run players off, but if I'm making $700k in the public eye and have limited scholarships, changes would have to be made.

I dont understand the worry and obsessing over what players we credit to which coach. Geno Ford is the coach now. It is his responsibility to get better players on the roster. He has been the head coach at Bradley for less than a year. I cant make people be patient but if you are a member of the short attention span theatre crowd then I suggest coming back in a couple years. It takes time for a coach to build a program on his likeness, have 2 or 3 recruiting cycles and put his stamp on the program.

I dont know why this is hard to grasp.

So we are to expect a senior to transfer and sit out a year?

I'm not really ok with "running off" any players that want to stay at Bradley, but especially seniors.

I did so because I keep hearing "wait until Geno gets his players in here". Five of the players on this roster were recruited by Geno. Of the freshmen, I've been somewhat impressed by 1, disappointed in another, and never saw the other one. I do agree that it will take time to get all of his players in here and that's why I've stated over and over that I'm not terribly concerned with the win/loss record these first 2 seasons. After that, the majority of the roster will be players that Geno recruited to Bradley.

Are you referring to Milos? He can still be a senior and graduate next spring if he has the credit hours. There are students at BU that don't play sports.

I only count three that Geno brought here- Crawford, Hodges and SHayok- WHo are the other two?

I could be wrong, but I believe Geno had also recruited DSE and JP.

                      Yes, to Kent State.

Ok, then lets look at this from Geno's perspective. Your asking him to keep scholarship players that are not going to contribute next season and some the season after. Your asking him to forfeit another season so that the players feeling arn't hurt and have his record at Bradley be even worse.

Sorry but in my business if someone on my staff comes to me and says "I'm not going to make any money for you for the next two years but I'd really like to stay on for the benefits" guess what your not going to be employed by me for the next two years.

This is the nature of the game. If he wants to make any impact next season then he needs to send a message to the team that they are replaceable and if they don't start producing then Bradley has to say goodbye to them.
Well let me just quote the late-great Colonel Sanders, who said..."I'm too drunk to taste this chicken."

It's plain and simple Newman - if we don't get better shooters on this team, we will likely finish last again.
We may see slight improvements in outside shooting from our 4 guys that can "light it up" but you just don't win many Valley games without good perimeter shooters.

I think our fans want to see a vast improvement next season, and it's justified. But we can only go so far with 3 guys on the bench who don't see any minutes...on a team that lost 25 games!!! What good is that for the team?

I wouldn't not encourage Milos to leave since he'll be a senior and is accustomed to not playing anyways, but for guys like DS and DH, I'd hate for their careers to be so limited. Geno needs to express this to these guys if they're not in the mix for next season.
DS is not going to get much quicker (which is an attribute GF desires for PG), and DH's shot isn't going to get much prettier, or uglier. And a side note - this recruit just baffles me. We heard that he'd be contributing maybe 15-20 min. per game - unless I'm mistaken.

So we go out in the spring and hope to sign 3 contributors for next season. If they don't contribute, then send them packing?

That's what SEC football programs do. Not saying it's a good thing, it seems heartless, but college sports are businesses more then anything else these days.

That is a slippery slope isn't it! How much time is going to be allowed for the new guys to adjust to the staff and teammates? Not every recruit is a sure thing... Do we run off upper classmen? I have to wonder what the administration thinks of this type of handling of "student athletes"?
