Drake got absolutely BLOWN out by several teams this year......
...Wichita, New Mexico State, Missouri State, UNI, Creighton, even a 44 point blowout against BOISE STATE!
Speaking of fans....where were they all....there was less red last night than there was pink....
Didn't see a whole lot of the people who wanted the moves made last spring...
But Drake definitely has more talent than we put out there last night. And their sweeping us 3 games this season proved it.
Sorry - but Simons and Rice > Lemon and Edwards
and their supporting cast - is that even worth bring up to compare???
Anthony Thompson should have played more this season I think...Hopefully next season something happens with JP, the potential is there but that's all it is..potential; I was not impressed with him.
Crawford took way too many shots that had almost no chance of going in. I guess it's good that he has the confidence to shoot but dang..
First I thank all the BU players for a very courageous effort and for playing hard.....given the circumstances, we were undermanned all year.... and I will root for them even with 25 losses...
So...having said all that - we're done and let's get going on 2012...
Hopefully next year Geno will start asking fans to help with the game plan. Obviously he, coach Graham, Willie Scott and Coach Uken dont seem to watch game film and form a game plan.
Bradley lost because Drake has a lot better players. When you have the two best players kn the court ln the same team (Simons and Rice- that team is going to have a huge advantage and it showed last might.
Your two statements above are a complete contradiction Newman. Which is it? Bradley lost be because of bad coaching... or Drake won because they have better players? You can't have it both ways. Coach K could have coached our guys this year and I doubt the record would have been much better.
WOW...the Braves were never in this game...almost 6 minutes into the game before you get your 1st basket? I for one am glad this season is over, take it out behind the barn and shot it, blow it up and do what is neede to get back to not being a joke on the court! Get rid of anyone who was not good enough to get into a game on a 7-25 team, please bring in some shooters.....congrats to Walter for showing improvement on his last 6 games...gives me some hope for next year!
+1 as long as we can find places for the people leaving. Bring in the shooters, but also bring in another power forward and not an undersized power forward.

just watched the tape replay -- gotta admit - if you want to hear a nearly TWO-HOUR Doug McDermott-promo with non-stop hype about Doug McDermott for National Player of the Year - then you will love watching the replay...
Oh - and btw - there was a game going on in the background...
Oh well. Game was microcosm of the season, etc, etc. Offense was bad, no flow, can't make a jump shot. Defense was atrocious in some parts, tolerable in others. Made a couple nice runs, never could sustain a prolonged period of good play, scored little, lost.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I never knew you critiqued game plans as a fan. This season is the first time in 9 years Ive seen you do it. I guess Im surprised to see ypu question a Bradley coaches game plan, decisions, etc. Why the change in philosophy?

I would love to see McDermott garner some votes for NPOY...

Along with this blunder about DSE's name, anyone notice how they completed muffed up the bracket pairings?
#3 Drake is supposedly playing Missouri St., while #4 ISU - Red is playing #5 Evansville. (or something like that) I don't think UNI is playing today according to the bracket. And the announcer was just going along with it, or at least didn't say the correct pairings.
This was probably worse than Sammy being called "Manicalso" repeatedly in the CIT final.

I don't know any fan who doesn't view, appreciate, and critique the way the game is played...
I have done it plenty of times - from Mo not ever going zone despite teams eating us up inside, to not playing JJ Tauai enough, to too much dependency on 3-pt shooting when we don't have the shooters, to using WL as PG, to not setting enough screens along the baseline..
I have posted many times on the exact subject that you claim you've never seen in 9 years -- I have no answer for such lack of logic....
If I were to yield any and all opinions I have then I might as well go back out in the concourse, listen to the musicians jamming and have a hot dog.
I, for one, would have hoped in the single most crucial game of the year, that we had defended the paint better...

While it was probably rude that the announcers were going on about Doug McDermott all the time, at least I'm glad for the publicity the Valley received this year because of him. I don't think he will get POY honors, but he still had one heck of a year in leading Creighton to a top 25 ranking and an sure fire NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Valley announcers of all people should get their info straight before going on the air. Pretty sloppy game prep which is surprising!
