  • Arch Madness - Best 1st Rnd Match-up

I wanted to see #4 ISU-Red and #5 UNI meet up again for Arch Madness.
This will be a game that goes down to the final seconds I believe.
The teams split in head-to-head battles in the regular season.
This to me will be the best game to watch on Friday.

#3 UE and #6 MSU are pretty evenly matched too.
Evansville swept the 2 games by narrow margin of 5 points in both contents. Would be hard to win 3 in a row with teams of same caliber. And Evansville doesn't seem to win much in the MVC tournament, though I wouldn't put much stock in the history.

Whoever comes out victorious would seem to have a realistic chance of knocking off Creighton in the next round, as both teams have faired well vs. the 'Jays.

I don't see Wichita or Creighton having much trouble in their opening round games.

This looks to be some very good matchups except for the Shockers, why there were so many teams with 9-9 records, if I had to pick a sleeper it would be Ill.St. as they have great post play, size and plenty of capable 3 point shooters. I know a lot of us do not like to say this about our arch rival but it is what it is, for me it is hard to believe they were 9-9 with this talent and have trouble drawing at home.

Well, after watching them last Saturday, I can see why they ended up 9-9.
Pretty inconsistent team. And they haven't seemed to play well away from Redbird arena the past few seasons. They were a missed free throw away from possibly just winning only 1 Valley road game all season.
For this reason, I don't give them much of a shot in Arch Madness. They are playing one of the better #5 seeds we've seen in the tournament since maybe the 2007 UNI team, who barely lost to BU.
Should be a fantastic 4-5 game to watch with 2 head coaches with pretty good success in Arch Madness.

You are correct about them being inconsistent , kind of hard to figure out as they have so many guys that contribute at different times, had Brown not made those deep 3 pointers in the first half we probably beat them, watching them warmup I see a lot of guys that shoot the ball well and then they have great size, no doubt UNI and ISU should be a good game.
