I hadn't seen this, but here is the article from the PJS from this afternoon-
"I talked to my parents about it and decided it was best to not risk it. So I'm going to shut it down for a few weeks. I have to think about my future."
The decision means Brown will not play in next week's Missouri Valley Conference tournament in St. Louis.

Getting back to the game, Bradley missed a bunch of layups and bunnies, and shot only 30.5% for the game. The effort and rebounding were great, but it's easy to see where we need to improve. Walt was 7-13 from the field. The other 7 players who played were 1-7, 1-6, 4-14, 2-6, 0-3, 2-6, and 1-4. 18-59 overall and 6-19 from three.
If we get any one of those 31 missed shots to drop, and many of them were very close to the basket, maybe we win the game.

I am also encouraged by SS and JC of late. If they can cut down on the sloppy plays, they will be very good in the near future.
I am concerned however by JP, JE and DSE as they seem to have regressed somewhat. Now I know they can play as they have had good games in the past. But I think they need the offseason to reflect a bit on what they need to do to become more consistent and be more mentally tough. JP in particular needs to be more physically present on the defensive end as he just seems lost there. But I think they will all be better next year.
We need some better shooters though before we can even think of getting out of the cellar. I'm hoping for 5 or 6 Valley wins and a few close wins instead of close losses all the time. That would be a step in the right direction.

Great effort from everyone who played. Kept hanging in there all the way through the game though it seemed at times we couldn't hit the broad side of the barn. Wanted: Shooters. Just a word of advice for our guys. It's okay to use the backboard on bunnies and layups. With no Taylor it'll be a tough road to hough against Drake but if we play with this kind of effort we can, "Git er dun". Should be a great tournament. Hope to see some of you in St. Louis.

Scoring is going to be even harder next year unless some guys make quantum leaps.
The only returning player who had an acceptable shooting percentage this year was Walt Lemon.
From 3, Walt & DSE both made 35% of their shots. 40% would be better, but what they did is ok. Jake and Shayock should both consider taking fewer attempts, as neither of them made 25%.
I'm very interested to see how Crawford and Shayock progress.
I believe that DSE will be the only returning player who shot 70% from the free throw line, also unacceptable.
