Bottom line, ISU mucked things up. If we beat them today, all of a sudden Missouri St and Drake are 3rd and 4th in the majority of tiebreakers and both of them had puncher's chances at the NIT. Now it's Illinois St at the 4 and one of the Indiana schools at the 3, meaning disaster.
Yeah, but the NIT committee will ignore conference seating and just pick the best 9-9 teams for the NIT. That would still have to be UNI with a 19-12 overall record. If they get that 20th win, they probably get an NIT bid, especially if this conference is still as good as people think it is.

Indiana St. would have been the other team that would have had a shot had they won today, but probably won't get a bid.

That's why I think they could be upset before the Valley finals. I also don't see them going very far in the NCAA Tournament either.

Creighton's last 3 games have been won by 2, 1 and 1 points, after going 1-3 the previous 4 games. That can't put much confidence in the team heading into Arch Madness.

Creighton will still be tough. Wichita State may be playing the best right now, but Creighton has a solid inside game and perimeter game, as well as depth that is important in the tournament, and they are capable of getting hot and beating anyone.
