Wichita State is #15 in RPI so even if they do not win in St. Louis - we can be certain they're in...

Creighton at #28 is likely to be in regardless but a strong showing down the stretch wouldn't hurt them...

UNI at #64 but with a .500 record in MVC play means they simply won't get an NCAA at-large bid

Missouri State at #94, ISU at #124, Drake at #131, InSU at #132, are all distant NIT possibilities - but very distant...they each need a strong run to the Tourney title game

UE at #152 might be a CIT team...but SIU 241, BU 255 are all staying home unless the unthinkable happens in St. Louis!

MSU torpedoed their NIT chances yesterday. UNI if they post 9-9, maybe, maybe, but it's a longshot.

Unless the EIEIO tourneys want MVC teams to play each other in their tournament, 1 or 2 9-9 MVC teams aren't even going to get invites to go.

      Bradley RPI

Am I correct that if Bradley ends the season with the current RPI (255), it will be the worst in history? A quick search saw 2002 the be the worst that I found. If this is true, we need to win Saturday

        I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't.

One mitigating factor: D-1 is much bigger now than in the past, so 255 out of 345 teams isn't as bad as it sounds, historically. It's easier to go lower today.

CBSSports' Gary Parrish believes that there is NOT ONE single mid-major team except Murray State - who has an at large bid guaranteed at this time...

Not Creighton, Not Wichita State, not Long Beach, not St. Mary's..
he also touches on the issue of someone other than WSU or Creighton winning Arch Madness...

He says the MVC, WCC, and a couple other conferences are guaranteed multiple bids so I don't think he's saying that. He said Murray St was the one small-conference school who's safe. Big diff between small and mid.

That said, he still doesn't know what he's talking about.

I think you read it wrong, because this is in there, "The Atlantic 10, Missouri Valley, Mountain West and West Coast will receive multiple bids regardless of what happens in those conference tournaments, and Conference USA probably will, too."

the title says that past the Racers there are no guarantees - so he's expressing just what I said he is expressing - that only Murray State is a lock...
but he does express what he thinks will happen...and notes that he believes a few conferences will secure additional bids..

Pretty clear to me as well. Also the following quote: "...Northern Iowa? Illinois State? Drake? -- try to turn the MVC into a three-bid league..."
