Maniscalco getting slammed by ESPN announcers

I have nothing against SM - he was always one of my favorites when he played for BU. I respect the fact he has the right to make his own choice after graduating. But to think with his struggles with injuries would be any different if he were in Peoria still is really naive.
BU would stink this season if he was here and we stink without him. Even if by some miracle he would have stayed completely healthy, if we were 11-19 instead of 7-23, would that really make you feel better about the year?Go Braves!

dont matter
I dont know why people spend so much time talking about SM..neither Illinois or Bradley will make the tourney as i stated about two months ago..with or without him..he is a nice kid but BU just needs to clean house..only about 2 weeks left to look at this miserable team. Get your cleaning rags ready.

I'm not saying we would have won conference or anything close to that (Creighton and Wichita St. are built too well), but I'm saying that he was a game changer here and would probably have been again this year. What Bradley didn't have this year was strong senior leadership, a 3-point threat, and a point guard, and Sammy was all three of those when healthy. I'm not glad he decided to leave, but he made that choice to find out "what if..." And now everyone is realizing he is a bit over his head here, but doing the best he can. So give the guy a break, and I always find ESPN announcers to have horrible opinion and facts and anyways. What part of illegal don't you understand?

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Funny how nobody's picking on Sammy this morning...
after a big win over Iowa -- here's Sammy's stat line from yesterday...
22 minutes, 2-2 from the floor, 1-1 from 3-pt range, 5 pts, 4 rebs, 4 assists, only one turnover, and some pretty impressive defense that caused Iowa's starting PG 6 turnovers and a total of 8 TO's for their two PG's combined...
Nice game Sammy - maybe Illinois is back in the hunt for a bid

Sam played ok on defense but I wouldn't say he caused those turnovers though....

Nice game Sammy.

I'm a guy who thought Sammy was gonna be a special player, and even I have to admit at this point he's no difference maker or playing good even.
He is filling a supporting well decently - A ballhandler who doesn't turn it over and doesn't take things off the table is nice to have (see our PG play this year?), but let's stop pretending he's even an average player this year. He's below average. Obviously the ankle is part of the reason why, but let's call a spade a spade at this point. Just because so many other Illini players have failed the program this season doesn't mean Sam hasn't.

Sammy gets the Big Ten Sportsmanship award for Illinois
BTW -- one comment...note how many post-season accolades Penn State's Tim Frazier is getting...some people even thinking he deserved 1st Team All Big Ten!
Do you recall that Tim Frazier was actually QUITE CLOSE to choosing Bradley??
Back in 2008-2009 he was strongly considering Bradley, and developed a very close relationship with assistant coach Alvin Brook III because of ABIII's STRONG Texas connections.
Just remember how many great leads and even a few great players we got from ABIII's Texas & juco connections (Will Franklin, Chris Roberts, Theron Wilson, Anthony Thompson, Eddren..)
It's unfortunate that we now have lost that strong Texas connection...look how many Texas & southwestern kids Creighton & Wichita are loading up on...
