One time BU recruit Marshall Henderson ended up at Mississippi and had a good junior season, though he was constantly drawing negative attention with his volatile antics.
Mississippi was counting on him playing a steadier role for them as a senior, but his future is now in jeopardy. He has been suspended indefinitely for a reported failed drug test-

and several site are saying he has failed "multiple drug tests" as well as noting he has also had prior drug arrests...

and Sports Illustrated & Andy Katz are reporting that Ole Miss knew at least 1 and a half months ago about Henderson's drug problems

the district attorney wouldn??�t prosecute...

I have to wonder if he wasn't the town's star basketball star, would he have been prosecuted for possession of marijuana and cocaine.

Marshall Henderson is bent to self destruct...after numerous behavioral issues, drug/cocaine/alcohol issues & arrests he finally gets the suspension he long deserved - from head coach Andy Kennedy...

Now he gets another big break as his coach seems to want to go easy on him...
after just a couple weeks - Kennedy starts talking to the media that he is going to reinstate Henderson...but I think the rest of the league would love to get another shot at him.

There may be some losers in that league but Henderson is the biggest loser and his coach will be the second biggest if he brings him back. Thank heavens he didn't come here.

Ole Miss head coach has to decide between two bad scenarios...

-dismiss Henderson and if they do they will surely be very bad this year

-reinstate him and hope for a good season but in the process send a strong signal that athletes are above the rules

The actual event that prompted it was the public revelation of numerous prior run-ins with the law regarding drugs, even cocaine AND failed drug tests.

keep in mind - surely the coach knew about the failed drug tests, and the drug arrests, but it wasn't until the sheer number of violations and absent discipline hit the news stories, then the coach was shamed into this short, temporary Jank-like "suspension" during a span when there are no team activities anyway to be suspended from.

as predicted - the Ole Miss coach has lifted all restrictions and Marshall Henderson is back on the team and will open the season when practice starts Friday...thus his "suspension" meant virtually nothing since he didn't miss anything at all, anyway... Jankesque...
