I won't defend a comment that I don't know was made, but I'm pretty sure Geno knows the RPI difference between the two leagues. If there wasn't a difference, he probably wouldn't have left a two time first place team in one league for the last place team in the other. Clearly, Bradley was a step up. What I have a hard time believing is that it's such a step up that Geno wouldn't be equipped to coach here. It isn't like he came from Eureka College.

I have attended all home games this year except for the Drake game. I expected this team to finish last in the Valley, but I expected some improvement during the season. I am most disappointed in the lack of progress of this team. I know they are generally overmatched in size and talent against most of their opponents, but Loyola is a bad team and even they could get the ball inside to score. We have no defense and continue to play the same offense. It is frustrating to watch how many turnover we commit that are unforced. Too many times our players shoot the 3 point shot without looking to pass the ball. I see Bradley in last place for next year and I do not want to watch this again without some improvement. Okay, one positive item for today. Jason Crawford is a player and has improved.

I agree with you and I have attended every game, I never leave early yet I have left 2 games this season (evansville and Loyola) early because it is painful to watch , last nights game was the worse one I can remember as Loyola has no outside shooters and really one good player , how do you lose to that team, we played like we had not touched a ball in months and got man handled inside by a small team, I am convinced that major changes better take place or a lot more fans will not be renewing their season tickets because my section in the lower bowl has so many unused seats the last 4 games because of how bad these games have been, its one thing to watch a team lose that is at least competitive but losing games at home by 30 points and losing to a loyola is pathetic.

I agree T . I think it is an insult we haven't been all over him . I hope I have to eat my words and I will surely do so if Geno lands kids much better then Alec , but until then I stand by my thinking that Alec is the best D-1 prospect in this area.

I don't know about 100 years but certainly not in the near future. It's going to take time for Geno to replace EVERYONE that's on the current roster B4 we see ANY light at the end of the tunnel thats not a train.

It is interesting that Wessler hasn't done much "spinning" about the Braves lately. Guys like Wessler and Supine make me sick how they go after coaches like Les and Weber. Sure BU hasn't been as good since their Sweet 16 run, a lot of that had to do with the injury bug that has hit the program the past few seasons, including this one. Sweet 16 sounds pretty good though and how many other BU coaches have led the Braves to that spot? In the case of the Illini, sure this has been a tough year and a tough stretch.
Who led Illinois to the NCAA championship game? Yes, the same coach that is on the hot seat now.

Illinois is lucky to have a coach like Weber, who does things the right way. Bruce is the best thing the Illini have going for them - leave him alone and let him coach - don't make the mistake BU made.

If your looking for heads to roll - get rid of pompous, uneducated, poison penned writers (?) like Wessler and Supine.

The sports world would be much better off with the likes of Les and Weber coaching at BU and Illinois and the likes of Wessler and Supine on the unemployment line.

Your post has really surprised me. I also happen to like Bruce and Jim but if you've been watching what JL left us and Bruce is coaching . How in the H-LL can you put the blame on Wessler and Supine. That makes absolutely zero sense. Did Wessler and Supine help recruit these guys?? It really doesn't deserve a reply but I had too.

Again, EVERYONE OUTSIDE OF PEORIA picked Bradley last in the MVC this season, so apparently most everyone DID see that we would be this bad. We lost the leading scorer in the MVC from a last place team last year, so I for one totally expected a horrible season this year. SIU's first few games gave me hope that they were even worse than us, but alas they really weren't as bad as they looked that first few games. The loss to a bad bad Western Carolina team at home drove home the point that we were destined to be a distant last in the MVC this season. So exactly who thought we'd be so much better than we are? And the better question is why? Rose colored glasses?

It's only going to take one more season before the majority of the roster is Geno's recruits and that's if he doesn't "run off" very player on the roster, which is what some people have said should happen. Unless he doesn't recruit players talented enough to run his system, I don't think it should be that long before we see ANY light at the end of the tunnel.

This season is about what I expected, I had no high expectations. I do believe we have a bright future, but it will take time. As far as us attempting to be recruiters I thinks we need to let the coaching staff handle that, Peters may be a good player but may not be a good fit for Geno's program. Let them make that call. I personally am hoping that there are three players (I won't name them) on our bench that will loose their scholarship at the end of this season and be replace with some young men that might have a chance of helping the program.

I don't think whether he recruited them or not is going to be the deciding factor. I think one of "his" Freshman would be the most likely to go. I think it is going to be a "You really have almost no shot of playing here the next 4 years. You may want to go somewhere you have a chance to play" type of situation.

I think you have to give some more time in the recruiting....He gets started late recruiting guys last spring for BU....it takes a few years to develop decent relationships with players....I just think you have to wait 3 years or so to see how it all goes...I don't know if GEno is a good coach or not. He won at KSU but it doesn't always mean you do well when you step up...McDermott and Weber come to mind...But we hired Geno and we need to support him the next few years and see how it all shakes out. If we are still messing around at 500 3-4years from now without contending for a conference title then I'm guessing changes will be made.
