By the way- Loyola forward Ben Averkamp had a nice game tonight. Some might remember that he was recruited by Bradley 4 years ago out of high school. He visited Bradley and attended a game his senior year. I had a chance to meet him and talk to him and his family. But in the end, Bradley coach Jim Les did not offer him a scholarship as he did not think he was quite good enough.

Couldn't be more pleased with the results of this season.

This team did suck tonight, and it wouldn't matter if the reincarnation of the love child of Adolph Rupp and John Wooden were the coach. For two games in a row, the lack of talent on this team has shined like a beacon in the night. Neither Remy Abell, nor a broken down Sam Maniscalco would make the difference.

No fan I know would say that. If you know someone who is pleased, who is it?

I'm sure not. I wouldn't expect to hear anyone actually voice it.

Of course all of this is true, but I think there are still some who think we'd be in the thick of the MVC race with those 2 players here...

By this time in the season, Rupp, Knight, or Wooden or any of their love children would have been emphasizing fundamentals and TEAM CONCEPTS! Something that is sorely lacking with the current staff

                  Got it, thanks.

I would think that a number of people who wanted Les out would not be happy with the way this season has gone. But seeing a few posters here who are not that upset with the way things have gone this year is a bit disturbing in my opinion, even if things get turned around quickly. We are better than this and should not have to hit rock bottom to rebuild a team.

Having said this though, this is not a knock on Geno or the players. It's just a matter of a few people, hopefully a very small minority who would accept a season like this. I personally do not think this was an acceptable season, and I'm sure Geno would be the first to say that, even though he continues to believe we will get better.

What I did not expect is a staff that is so woefully inept with their offensive sets and the lack of any real improvement with most of the players. When JP is getting the ball in the block, he is either triple teamed or not in a position to put up a high percentage shot. This late in the season, our players are STILL jacking up shots extremely early in the shot clock. Around the 8 minute mark in the second half tonight, it was evident that our players were gassed. We have 22 losses this year. Someone... anyone give me a reason why we should not play Milos, DS, Hodges..etc...I am not saying that playing these people would make a difference, but wouldn't it be nice to give these players some experience? As everyone knows, against Drake we were 0-20 shooting from the three point arc. At what point in the game does the staff take the players aside and set up some schemes to pass the ball around for an attempt at a decent mid-range shot.. We have players who are good mid-range shooters... Maybe 0-10 or 0-12 from the arc??? smh Oh wait that would involve offensive sets that utilize multiple screens which is a concept that is not evident from this staff this year! Porter Moser was experimenting with different defensive schemes tonight, yet I see little if any creativity from this staff! Tonight was yet another inexcusable embarrassment!
Yeah, just look at Creighton tonight. I saw some great screening and lots of passes to set up a great shot. Of course they have better shooters so they can shoot short-range, mid-range or long-range shots at will. But they still are more patient and set up good shots through great passing. Their defense is another matter entirely, but as Creighton showed again tonight, they are capable of beating a great offensive team by out shooting them. Bradley on the other hand would have been blown out by 45 against Long Beach State!

I would add Evansville to this list. They have a system that gets the most out of their players.

Did you seriously think that Loyola's talent was so much better than Bradley's to thump us on our home court? There was not a single player on that LU team that would make our team.

I don't think anyone who posts on this board is happy about how this season has gone. But I do see a few posts from time to time from people who are shrugging the season off as something that was to be "expected". I couldn't disagree more with these people as even in a rebuilding year this is not acceptable. Not that we haven't had seasons like this before, but that usually came after players left midseason, or after seasons were we had less talent.

Anyway, I have not given up on the future of this team, but I'm just looking for more discipline play and wins against the teams we should beat.

Completely honest question here with no hidden agenda.

Do you feel that Geno won back to back COYs without coaching fundamentals or team concepts? Is the MAC such a bad league that none of those elements were required?

I have attended all home games this year except for the Drake game. I expected this team to finish last in the Valley, but I expected some improvement during the season. I am most disappointed in the lack of progress of this team. I know they are generally overmatched in size and talent against most of their opponents, but Loyola is a bad team and even they could get the ball inside to score. We have no defense and continue to play the same offense. It is frustrating to watch how many turnover we commit that are unforced. Too many times our players shoot the 3 point shot without looking to pass the ball. I see Bradley in last place for next year and I do not want to watch this again without some improvement. Okay, one positive item for today. Jason Crawford is a player and has improved.

Very true! Evansville played like a #1 seeded NCAA Tournament team against us!
