Northern Iowa got the shaft by the officials in this game. A the least they could have called the same at both ends of the floor at the end.

I've been told more than once that officials do not decide games.
Besides, we beat UNI so how good could they be?
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

So what's your point. I know we beat them what the he** has that got to with them getting shafted at the end of this game?

regardless of how you define it - a clear foul (easily visible on replay) when a UNI kid was shooting and got hacked hard on the arm was totally missed, then immediately the refs award a VCU kid with a 3 pt play when there was no foul at all.

          Speaking of who to blame..

we have also been told we can't blame injuries...
and yet I read a BracketBusters article this morning that blames an entire CONFERENCE's RPI on injuries...
          the Colonial Athletic Assoc.....
"....few mid-major leagues need an image boost this season more than the CAA.
After sending three of its teams to the NCAA tournament last season, the top-heavy
league is poised to send only its tournament champion this season because of RPI issues.

"I don't know why everyone worships the RPI so much," said Old Dominion Coach Blaine Taylor.....
"The thing that's misleading about our league, the old look test used to be pretty important,
and how you were playing in January, February and March used to be pretty important.
This RPI thing, it's like we've got a new Bible people are printing. I always thought that's a little bit warped."

The biggest reason: Several CAA teams were not at full strength in nonconference play,
which crippled their chances of securing quality nonleague victories."

another thing that they point out is how the gurus all of a sudden ARE using the RPI again after
years of trashing the idea that RPI should be used...
clearly they do use whatever they choose to make mid-majors look worse...

Taylor nailed it with his comments. Now all of the sudden the RPI is "relevant" again, and the "eye test" is last year's "fad".

So which is it guys? Make up your mind and be consistent when evaluating which teams make the tournament! That's all people ask.

There were some bad calls, but UNI still lost the game on their own.

UNI will be a dangerous team in the Valley next year. Heck, I wouldn't even count them out this year to make a run in St. Louis. I hope they do so the Valley could get a third team into the tournament. It may not show with the way the conference season played out. But there are several teams in that middle tier that are more than capable of winning the Valley tournament. Hopefully UNI or MSU will be one of them as they have the best chance of knocking off CU and WSU.

                Let's see:

                1. VCU
                2. Old Dominion
                3. George Mason

Oh, they did get three in??? I forgot about George Mason. My bad!

Just edited my previous post as well.

Hey Blaine Taylor. Nice job in the non-con scheduling. Top 30 SoS I believe. Now you might want to pass that memo on to the rest of the league, because they are responsible for ruining your entire league this year. Here's what the top half of your conference did with their non-con schedule.

                    VCU 216
                    Drexel 274
                    George Mason 262
                    (Old Dominion 20)
                    Georgia St 332
                    Delaware 260

Yeah, that's pathetic scheduling, right out of the ISU red school of scheduling! Some bad luck might play into this at times, but even so the worst a schedule should be in an off year should be around 125 or so. Part of it may be the obligatory big boys avoiding these teams like the plague, but still, I'm sure there are plenty of upper level mid-majors these teams can play.
