Story on Max Bielfeldt. Sounds like tendonitis in his knees this Fall helped Michigan make the decision to redshirt him a little easier. He is getting a lot of time on the scout team in practice.

And he's not going anywhere. He's happy at MU

I'm sure he loves it there. Like so many other kids, it simply comes down to what his expectations are for playing time. If he's good with what happens, then of course he should stay. If he wants to start 75-80 games over his career, then he risks being disappointed.

I think he is going to have a really hard time getting much time there. They recruited a top 5 player that is the same size. He may get some time but I don't see a lot in his future. They should have a good team though and it may be fun to play on a top team. Also a very good academic school.

From a Bradley point of view. He would have been a help as a complimentary player. But is not the type of player to cause a big turnaround without some better players on his team.

                Becoming a commodities broker?
                Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Don't know what to make of this comment.

I suspect only walk ons don't get lots of time on the scout team in practices at Michigan.

Wouldn't starters plus top 2-3 reserves play for first team in practices...

Yes - 9 through 13 get lots of scout team play. 1 - 8 are typically working with the first team.

Yeah, I guess I could have worded it different. I meant to imply that he was a big part of the scout team and playing the part of all the big men in the Big 10. Sounds like Beilein is happy with his play in practice......

“He’s played (as) every big man in the league so far. Whether it’s been Jared Sullinger or Draymond Green, he’s a scout team all-star right now.

I don't think Max will ever play much there but you never know. He is just not big or athletic enough to play the 4 or 5 in the Big 10. If he works on his ball handling skills he could develop into a 3. He does have some range on his shot. He is a great kid at a very good school. That degree would look good.
