Sorry, but I actually go to every game, unlike some of the most vocal critics. And I believe there is not doubt this team would be a winnning team with the expected team and coach returning. The top 2 teams in the MVC would be the same, but Bradley would have been every bit in the mix after that.
Nobody knows where we would have been this year if JL was here, it is all conjecture....no doubt we would have been better than THIS year......same thing when Mo left...we would have been better if he had stayed the next than Les's first...but again that's only speculative......We have to wait to see what happens in the future to judge Geno totally
They're tied for 3rd this year with MSU, and as of now own that tiebreaker. When was the last time we finished 3rd, or competed for the MVC?
Illinois State is the 7th ranked team in the MVC in RPI, which is a far better measure of how good they are. They are also just a couple slots away from the worst SOS in the league.
They will not finish 3rd. They may not finish in the top half. They have 3 road games left, out of their 5 remaining MVC games, and one of their home games is Wichita. Let's see how they finish, but they will end up with 12-14 losses, IMO. And they are not an NIT team. Their RPI is well over 100. And despite their 24 and 25 win seasons, they have not gotten an NCAA bid since 1998, the longest drought of any team in the MVC. Yes, they are worlds better than Bradley right now, but that doesn't make them "a good team".
The historic "firsts" are starting to pile up so high I can't remember half of them- but now a few more- the largest loss in the BU-ISU series since 1909, the first time in history we have lost back to back games by 30+ points. We have now lost 4 MVC games by 30+ points, the first time in history, and we have lost 8 games by 20 or more points- mind boggling!
I didn't see any columns by Kirk Wessler today? Maybe he spotted another squirrel that he felt was worthy of doing a column about? Or maybe he is trying to figure out how to convince us how Bradley is "better by a light year or two".

what gives? 6 in a row. SIX IN A ROW. I mean I could go Dennis Green and say they are who we thought they were. They beat MSU twice, beat UNI, spot with Evansville. They lost when they see supposed to lose to CU, WSU, and the anomaly at SIU is mind boggling. But with BU's better SOS. W/L record etc,. What in Sam heck does their SOS and all that other stuff matter? BU just got embarrassed by the largest margin since 1909. Whether it's the team, the coach or whatever point the finger inward and address this program and the AD, not ISU.
Furthermore, when you look at women's hoops who have lost 13 straight. Men's hoops who have lost 6 straight, before some freak anomoly in VB in 2010. They lost something like 15 straight matches and 31 out of 36 overall or something stupid like that. The facts are so sickening I won't even look at Baseball, Softball or any other sport in this supposed WAR. You keep taking digs while they keep winning and it just comes off as sour grapes. Its the equivalent of Charlie Sheen #winning
ISU is not that good. They might be a little better next year , but they will not compete for the MVC even with everyone back. Of course, ISU could schedule all 300+ RPI teams again for the non-conference schedule.
Not sure how you can say they are not that good. They kicked our b--ts in every phase of the game and they are young. Earlier this year we had a big discussion on our bigs vs their bigs. I supported the ISU bigs eeven though not wanting to but I don't wear rose colored glasses. Last night should be proof enough to end that debate. We are light years behind them in all phases of the game. Back up the truck and soon.

I want some of want you guys are drinking. That is the crazest statement I've read in a long time and one neither of us will be able to prove.
We used to have guaranteed home wins against teams like Evansville and Drake, and now we lose to them by 30...wishing we had a program like theirs?
We used to argue about whether we were major or mid-major, now we are debating whether we can stay as NCAA division 1?
How has this program gone so quickly from finishing the year ranked in 2006 to a culture of defeat?
With a coaching change, I had little expectation of greatness, but I would never have guessed in my wildest dreams a team become markedly worse from opening game to today.
Crazy, sad, embarrassing. Truth is stranger than fiction. Much more of this and Bradley will have no need for the Civic Center.
Glad I did not watch the game. Still going to give the guy some time...There were people who wanted to run Coach K out of Duke after his first year. Let's all step away from the ledge and watch the Super Bowl because if you expect miracles you'll be fairly more disappointed next year. I can say though that if I do not see any great recruits coming in then we'll be in trouble for the next 4-5 years.

Guarantee. Some people don't seem to know what this word means. You also can't guarantee something that is completely speculative.
Guarantee (definition): A formal promise or assurance (typically in writing) that certain conditions will be fulfilled, esp. that a product will be repaired or replaced if not of a specified quality and durability
- we offer a 10-year guarantee against rusting
Something that gives a certainty of outcome
- past performance is no guarantee of future results

LOL an F-??? Is that even possible??? To me it's got to be an incomplete...It's like Geno is in Home Economics class and is suppose to bake brownies and all he has access to is a cup of sugar, a teaspoon of flour, some brown food coloring and a gallon of vinegar. What in the world is he suppose to do with that???? (Though, in fairness, he should have had a real good idea of what he was getting into) He could be the greatest coach in BU history for all we know. Or he could prove to be the biggest bust ever. No way we could know yet. Just my opinion.
Trust me.... Geno knew EXACTLY what he was getting in to.
I can probably guarantee that we would be at least 9-9 if Les, Remy and Harris were here this season. Sammy would be here but probably wouldn't contribute much at this point with his ankles as we know now. But it is what it is, it's Geno's show now and he got an F minus in his 1st season. He'll get a chance to re-take the challenge next season.

I wish Remy was here, but I can't see any way that he and Harris would be the difference, so you must think that Les's coaching would be the catalyst.

+1...and when you back the truck up--please start the loading the Pres. office first-- please! How did we go from a sweet 16 team not long ago to THIS? I dislike ISU as much as anyone here--but you are corect--their bigs are MUCH better than ours (and they have a good one redshirting) Hate to agree--but we ARE light years behind them and we should NEVER have allowed this to happen.
