  • Pick-em for ISU game

No prize - just pride and bragging rights...

Remember - that Jackie Carmichael seems to really build his stats against Bradley....

Last year his overall Valley stats were - 9.8 ppg and 6.2 rpg
His numbers in just the 2 games vs. BU - 21.5 ppg and 15 rpg
..so his avg after the BU games weeded out - 7.5 ppg and 4.7 rpg...downright mediocre!!

So here's the pick-em, a THREE PART CHALLENGE...

-Is Bradley's starting lineup going to be the same? Yes or No

-Then, figuring 50% or so will get that right () - part two is...
how many points will Jackie Carmichael score??

-part 3 - what will be the announced attendance since it is shaping up according to Dave Reynolds - to be far short of a sellout..

Here are my answers...N, 14, 5600 most of whom will be wearing Bradley red.

BTW - Evansville's Ryan Sawville (not Saw-well, Dave) is shaping up to be the next Jackie Carmichael against Bradley.
The Evansville center is averaging 6.3 ppg and 4.1 rpg overall but --
12 ppg and 10 rpg against Bradley while his numbers shrink a bit to
5.6 ppg and 3.4 rpg in games other than vs. BU

Honest question, t. Not trying to stir up anything. I'm just curious about your perceptions.

Do you consider these Herculean efforts from Jackie and Sawvell bad luck on Bradley's part, or is their something about the opposition that is enabling these outstanding performances?

this is a rehash of a thread from last year...
as many will recall - Evansville's Ryan Sawvell had monster games against us last season - pretty much doubled his stats each time he played Bradley!

This prompted some with narrow vision to say he should be included in the Freshman of the Year discussion....even tho overall he averaged only 5 pt/3 reb against the rest of the world..

I wonder if he'll look like Doug McDermott against us again this year - because I couldn't help but notice that even tho he was getting big time opportunity to play - he's still putting up very paltry numbers this season.
He's lost his starting position that he had for 7 games, his playing time is diminished, and he's averaging 5.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg - with an assist only about every other game and reportedly becoming a defensive liability....and some fans wondering what's wrong..

BTW - some mention on the Drake board that one of their best players Jordan Clarke is injured although he's expected to play this Saturday...
He's averaging only 5 pts & 5 rebs the past two games after averaging nearly 10 pts & 10 rebs prior to that.
..also some talk in some of their posts that they want to fire their coach...
