  • UConn head coach Jim Calhoun

is taking an immediate full leave of absence and will not accompany the team until further notice...
this is being reported as a health concern regarding some spinal condition and pinched nerves,
and is labelled an "indefinite leave of absence"..

Calhoun, who is 69 years old, has taken leave for health issues at least four other times (2003, 2008, 2009, 2010)
...and got his first coaching job in 1971 as head coach at Northeastern University - and was hired having never worked as a head coach or even as an assistant or any other capacity at the college level ever.
His only experience was 3 years of head coaching at two different high schools.

Calhoun is probably gonna try like crazy to get back asap...
in his absence last night - UConn looked terrible and got blown out horribly by Louisville.
They may have played themselves out of an NCAA bid....according to this story - but I would be very surprised if they even finish in the top 12 of the Big East - they'll won't be left out..........they'll get in -
