To add to my previous post, Pat Skerry is Towson's first year coach. He replaced former DePaul and Florida St. head coach Pat Kennedy who resigned last year after a 4-26 record, in a season that ended in a 19 game losing streak. Therefore, Towson's recent win over UNC-Wilmington broke not a 22 game losing streak, but a 41 game losing streak going back to December of 2010!

So if you think Bradley basketball is bad now, it could get MUCH MUCH worse!

Here is Pat Kennedy's coaching resume. Obviously past performance does not guarantee future results, and Pat Kennedy's resume fits this profile perfectly! He's a good coach who took Iona, Florida St. and DePaul to several NCAA Tournaments, but never had winning or .500 record at Towson.

    1980–1981 Iona 12–14

    1981–1982 Iona 20–9

    1982–1983 Iona 21–9

1983–1984 Iona 22–8 NCAA First Round

1984–1985 Iona 25–5 NCAA First Round

    Iona 114–60

    1986–1987 Florida State 17–11

1987–1988 Florida State 19–11 NCAA First Round

1988–1989 Florida State 22–8 NCAA First Round

    1989–1990 Florida State 15–15

1990–1991 Florida State 21–11 NCAA Second Round

    1991–1992 Florida State 21–10 NCAA Sweet 16

1992–1993 Florida State 25–11 NCAA Elite Eight

    1993–1994 Florida State 13–14

    1994–1995 Florida State 12–15

    Florida State 199–132

    1997–1998 DePaul 7–23

    1998–1999 DePaul 19–13

1999–2000 DePaul 22–12 NCAA First Round

    2000–2001 DePaul 12–18

    2001–2002 DePaul 9–19

    DePaul 69–85

    2002–2003 Montana 13–17

    2003–2004 Montana 10–18

Don't say that. It was hard enough to pick ISU in the prediction thread!
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Well, was just commenting to the poster who thought Towson would make a good Bracketbuster opponent for us. We could lose to them though, too!

so you're saying the "downhill" started on the current "watch"???...wow - that's sure gonna send the other board into a suicide watch...

You can learn how to coach, but that playing experience and loyalty can NOT be matched. Maybe next time we can go with the guy the PJS wanted that is a poor public speaker..... But that is not important to coaching - is it? Recruiting, Fund Raising, Public Apperances, BSS & Braves Club functions, etc..

He was asked to rasie millions for a new facility (and he did) and was given one year to use it for recruiting! ONE YEAR? The players that loved it are not even here!
To take this discussion further...Bleeding Red & White includes not just MBB but our other sports teams. Fallout with disgruntled fans will significantly impact revenue -- and we know that it probably won't be the MBB budget, but other sports who are already struggling (i.e. a DI softball program whose home facility doesn't even have lights??)

This is why I think we got one of the best BracketBuster pairings - we got one we might be able to win!

I'm not going to say anything bad about JL or Gf. But the point I'm trying to make is she ran a pretty successful women's golf coach off. That's all I'll say right now.

Exactly what I was thinking. And we get to see Bradley, good or bad, in Chicago again within the next two years.

This kind of reminds me of Coach Mo's first year in 1992. We played Loyola at the PCC that year as well, and it was one of Coach Mo's 7 wins that year. I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same!

Thank goodness the men's soccer team is still playing at a high level! That's the only team that has excelled consistently in recent years other than the MBB team a few years back.

Exactly. I saw the number 61% somewhere when referring to his wins outside the top 150. So well over 1/3 of his wins have come against RPI top 150 teams. How bad can that be?
