Wish there was a draft, so we could pay players and keep up with others.

      games like THIS ONE

set us back in so many ways

      1. From a national reputation standpoint
      2. With regards to mentality and effort we will see rest of season
      3. Constructive player development physically and mentally
      4. From a recruiting standpoint
      5. From a $$$ as in donations standpoint
      6. From a FANBASE standpoint
      a. This sets us WAY BACK from a student attendance standpoint

Feel sorry for Walt. The staff obviously has him playing out of position and now he is or may be in the dog house. smh

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

For the record- in the 108 years of Bradley basketball- Bradley has never finished in 10th place- they have never finished lower than 9th place.
So more evidence that it is worse this year than any other year in our history, and as was documented by another poster- things are getting worse by the game.

I actually think it is time for someone in an administrative position at BU to come forward and answer to this horrible mess. Bradley's great fans, and loyal and generous donors deserve far better than this. It's time to stop making excuses.
I know the BU admins read this board, so I would be more than happy to hear from someone. But I don't expect much other than to have Bradley's house boy write another column praising Bradley's effort and telling us how much better things are getting.

The execution on offense and defense by this team is woefully and embarrassingly bad- any grade school coach could have taken any 5 YMCA league players and performed better tonight than what we saw. In addition, the game plans appear incredible poor and inadequate, and the ability to adjust and stop teams from exploting us is nonexistent.

Evansville is an average team at best, and yet they have embarrassed Bradley with 90+ points twice this season. Tonight I saw fans leaving at halftime, and almost everyone was out of there with 5 minutes left.
Is there anyone going to Illinois State on Saturday? Bradley used to have 1500 to 2000 for games there. I expect 20-30 this time.
And will we have anyone in St. Louis other than those wo have to be there? Sorry, but it's no longer even debatable. This program has been massively set back by those who felt they needed to impose the changes that were made. They need to be forced to watch this game.
I take no pleasure in saying this, but I have been right all along when I warned that things would get much worse, and it would be a long time before they get better.

Guess this season shows how much BU depended on AW, DD, and WE last season... BU hasn't been able to replace their offense, or defense, this season. The role players last year haven't been able to step up to take over.

Yeah, I'm all for calling out the administration for not stepping up. Mind me for getting critical here for a minute. By waiting to fire Les until the bottom fell out, they created this mess. If they would've fired him a year earlier like they should have, there would have been more pieces to build around with the new coach and we would've never bottomed out. But instead, we picked the wrong year to fire him - a year late or a year early. I'm fine with the firing because Les never would have gotten the program to an acceptable baseline level during his tenure, but firing him when he did put the new coach in a hole.

It was clear after '10 that Les couldn't peak consistently (although I myself made the argument it was possible or even probable for Les to finally get in the top 3 in the MVC, I never thought he could be consistent enough for BU's needs). '10-'11 should've been the rebuilding year. Instead, it became a waste year where nothing productive for the program happened.

So I do think there was the one mistake made by the upper uppers. Tough to start rebuilding when you have no tools, and they fired Les at the point at which he had the minimum number of possible tools around to use.

such a depressing post that needed to be said unfortunately

I went to the tourney 3 years in a row.....but I would (very hard to say this) be EMBARRASSED to walk into an arena full of every valley teams' fans.....

maybe if Tyshon doesn't wiggle out of his LOI he will be a 45 and 30 a game player and become a Legend

I honestly find myself watching games for 4 reasons

                  1. Walt is on my fantasy team (ouch)
                  2. I like seeing Charon and Taylor
                  3. Doug McDermott might be playing (also on my Fantasy team)
                  4. I still like Bradley a little bit

I really have no desire to see DSE, WL (besides reason 1)*, JE, AT, or SS play at all...its getting old

Can we bring out the "atleast we have a good APR rating, Geno is really helping these young men in life" excuse?

I would rather half our team get caught with filed off serial code firearms and drugs (while being a thug, swag team that wins) then lose to UE by 200 at home

Yeah, a broken down PG and a fired coach who's responsible for this mess, would've made a huge difference.

My 2 sons and I will be there, and look forward to seeing some great basketball that weekend. We will also be there knowing full well that our chances of wearing white in the Noon Friday game sometime in the next 9 years are much higher than they were at this time last season.

Also, if we tie for 1st some season, and win both games against the team we tied with, would you say we finished 1st? If you answer yes, then please explain how you cannot say we finished last in 2010-2011.

Certainly a depressing post but something tells me that the administration and their staff may read the post and file it away somewhere. MONEY (lack of donations) talks before anyone walks.

This being said, I do not question the administration for firing JL. I do question the hiring process of a coach who seems to be woefully inadequate to coach at the MVC level! I wonder if anyone affiliated with the hiring process looked into Geno's record to see that 61% of his wins at Kent State were against teams with a sub 150 RPI? I am very disappointed with what I have not seen from this staff this year! If we are to turn things around, there has to be some accountability!

SM was the MVP of that 42-41 thriller the other night for the Illini, right? I watched him in person lead us to a close home loss to OVC powerhouse EIU last season. Hey but maybe we'd be 2-10 with him this season...

But those coaches would at least have the players more disciplined with a TEAM approach to their game than what we have witnessed this year.smh
