Really felt good about this one for some reason...
It's been a LONG time since I've left a Braves game early......before tonight.

I hope those who wanted these changes are happy.

Get back to me in 5 years. This year's team was going nowhere, and anyone who didn't have rose colored glasses knew that before the season started. We lost the top scorer in the league from the last place team last year (yes we were last...tied for last and losing both games to the team we were tied with=being last). Last place was expected this season, although when SIU opened up by losing to Ohio Dominican, there was hope that maybe they were even worse than us. Alas, that was not the case. We do not have the talent this year to be competitive in the MVC, CUSA, or the Summit League...I've seen plenty from all 3 leagues, and can assure you we'd be at the bottom of 2 of them, and well within the bottom half in the other. We lost at home to the current last place team in the North Division of the SoCon (W. Carolina....a team at least one or two on here thought was really good despite me telling them otherwise...any hope of a last place MVC finish went away with that loss).

I have heard MANY times that it couldn't possibly get any worse than last season.

There is definitely a step backward this season from the Les-established baseline of the program. That should be granted.

I wanted the changes, and I am happy, because I believe Geno is plenty capable of establishing a baseline above what Les had in the long run, and in fact I think many coaches are capable of establishing said baseline.

I hope you are right. I'm hoping that too. But even for a first year coach, I expected a bit more because I know our players are more talented than this. Many of the same players are still here after finishing last season with 6 wins in the last 9 games, and even last year we did not get blown out at home like this! That's what is getting me and some others here a little concerned, even for a first year rebuilding job.

Last is last, no matter how you slice it. We have the same MVC record we had at this point last season, and the league is better this season. That's one reason we probably won't get to 4 wins this season. I'm hoping we can escape the cellar next year (50/50 chance), escape Thursday night in STL in 2 years (50/50 chance), and contend for a spot never seen under the previous regime (top 3) in 3 years.

I thought there was more talent, too.
When TB scores 10, that's a bad game for him - that's how you measure talent! besides TB, we have a few guys that can score 20 but their averages are 11.. Which means most of their games are 6-8 points, and frankly, that's not very good.

Does that mean it can't possibly be ANY worse.......I don't think so.

0 for the season would be worse. Anything else doesn't really matter if you're last...

Tonight, along with the season, is a disgrace!! Anybody says this team is getting better (Other than KW) needs to invest in some South Florida real estate (The Alley), because your future's so bright, you need to wear shades. This team (Sorry - These 5 individuals) continues to go south. We are ALL basketball fans so just admit there is NO improvement this year.

SPIN DOCTORS..... FIRE away and good luck with this response.
