BracketBuster pairings are leaking out

People got slightly carried away with LBSU. They had a signature win over Pitt, before Pitt stole it and defecated all over it. Xavier was at the height of their turmoil for the other win. Those are still solid wins and the non-con SoS is the type of thing that the committee just gobbles up. But the're more like a pesky 12 seed than anything. Not a lot of value for Creighton. Granted, CU has done very well to be in the situation where nobody but St Mary's is of value to CU.

Wichita St is the one I feel sorry for. They could use a signature win, and Murray St would've been it. Davidson won't really have the value anything more than WSU can get by beating any non-CU Valley team on the road.

Yeah, I agree that LBSU is a bit overrated for my tastes. But Davidson did beat Kansas in Kansas which is one terrific win. WSU does have a signature win against UNLV, though it was at home, while WSU could not win in their preseason tournament. I say if WSU can beat Creighton at their place, that would give WSU a huge boost in NCAA Tournament seeding.

Yeah, Elgin isn't to blame for this one. ESPN clearly wanted best available to play Murray St for the storylines, and that was St Mary's, not WSU. The fact that the Valley had the #2 team on both lists screwed everything up.

I wonder if Elgin secured those 2 CAA matchups as compensation.

The Valley's rank-and-file are doing seriously well this year. Things are usually the other way around - the top couple of teams get what they need and everyone else suffers greatly. This year the rank-and-file are getting solid return games and the top 2 are paying the price.

Oh make no mistake, they're actively looking for the toughest opponent for Murray St. That's why Wichita St ISN'T there.

Every single freaking year they announce home/road splits well before the season starts, and every single freaking year the home side is always significantly stronger. The funny thing is next year, most of the home teams are then road teams....but they regress and the other side always makes big strides forward. It's inescapable
