Yes, I have studied a lot of info regarding this issue from both sides. I did watch Al Gore's movie with his "hockey stick" analogy regarding the "exponential" increase in temperatures and carbon. It was a well made film. I can understand why he won an award for it. That said though, I think it was full of junk science that almost made "The Day After Tomorrow" look like legitimate scientific research!
I don't think anyone denies that there has been an increase in temperatures in recent decades. But I do know the previous four winters around here were very reminiscent of those brutal winters that I still remember from the late 70's to early 80's, and a couple in the mid 90's. Maybe not quite as cold as those winters, but still very few warm spells and lots of snow. Chicago just broke the record for consecutive 50+ inch snow seasons with four in a row. That has never happened since records started to be kept in the late 1800's.
I understand that most of the global temperature change has occurred in the poles, but I question whether or not it is as extreme as some have made it out to be, and most importantly I question whether that is a result of mankind's influence or just a natural cycle, be it from the earth or sun. And, yes I do not base my conclusions from one abnormal winter like this one. But this is an issue that will continuously be debated for a long time, despite the cries from some *****s who feel that this is not a debateable issue anymore! That's a silly conclusion to make, since the beauty of science is that there is ALWAYS room for different opinions and nothing in this universe is 100% certain. I hope the debate continues.
