But we were still loud and proud without him. The student section impresses me more and more every game. A much bigger turnout than I expected with today being the last day of classes and most people gone already. Probably the most fun I've had at a game since toppling Wichita State two years ago.

      FAN-tastic game!

Now I know how Illinois feels when they blow someone out.... we just need to schedule more teams like this.

      Danny Adams was "money"!

I TOLD you guys Zach will take his FT shooting personal and fix it. Expect it to continue.

IN-GAME COACHING: Zach was flying down on a fast break and heard Coach Les yell 'Go Zach - Go Zach', urging him and he increased speed and then cut to the bucket and got the slam.

WF has shown (definitely in Ruff's absence) he is a warrior and a ton!

Great to see JJ get the call for the first offensive set. Kinda sets the tone. You can't disregard JJ, he CAN score... and when he establishes that part of his game, it opens up everyone else's game. No 5 on 4 crap. Then JJ goes back to doing all the other great things that help the team. And if defenders think they can lag off him... he will score.

I LOVED the passing tonight - this team is passing the ball so well.

The 'triangular' thing in the 2nd half with JJ hovering around the FT line... back and forth passing in both directions to the shooters on the perimeter - SWEET!

WF and JL appear to have a good relationship with one another.

AW is progressing great. Ruff out hurts... but helps someone like AW. The final play of the 1st half set AW up for a 3 and he was quite happy with the result.

Singh seemed a little slower with his footwork tonight. Maybe a little gun-shy to go "acorns"-out.

SJ has got the BEST elevation in a jumper on the team. He lacks in a few ways to warrant more minutes. Remember, he is playing as a Freshman. He has the rest of this year and 3 more years. (Coach Les was NOT happy with the little scuttle between Jassey and a FAMU player late in the game - thought he would get the yank)

Speaking of scuttles... a FAMU player fouled Salley and took him down and Salley looked ready to rumble but I think the FAMU player didn't mean to pull Salley to the floor and was trying to pull him back up right away.

Speaking on Salley... I think he is gonna get continually better. It is already showing. This is only game 4 for him. He really needs to be more aggressive on rebounding - he seems a little soft. It'll come - I am sure.

i was in the student section again tonight in the 2nd row..... very impressed with the turnout

I was thinking that there would not be a student section tonight with all the students going home early for thanksgiving

the z-bar turnout was very poor but def expected.....

I agree that this is a team that's more fun to watch than almost anyone expected. I'm sure having fun.

It'll get tougher on the road, but with so many different scorers and shooters, it'll be unlikely everyone will have a bad game at the same time.
We are shooting consistently around 50% in every game, and it's coming from all over then floor.

I love what Jim Les has done with this team. They are like a family-- so unselfish. Gotta keep on winning, but this year is going to be fun.

JJ Tauai was guarding a guy who was 2-3 inches taller and probably 100 pounds heavier (Darius Glover) and simply shut the guy down to the point that he was angry and frustrated and yelling angrily at his teammates.
This could well have been a 40-50 point win, but the deep subs began entering at 9:48.

When Danny Adams hit that 8th 3-pointer, Jim Les cracked a smile a mile wide, and DA smiled back. Everyone was feeling it.

15-17 on FTs? Who'd have thunk it?

          And lastly....
          JJ Tauai stats:
26 min, 5-8FG, 2-4 on 3-pt, 12 pt, 9 assists, 5 steals, 1 block, one turnover, and only picked up one foul while playing lock down defense.
The next time I see someone post that "we gotta be getting more out of JJ", I think I am going to explode!!

PS--Here's an extra bonus of Bradley playing so great....
there are 4 or 5 posters who claim prolifically (mostly on other boards) that they are bigger Bradley fans than anyone else, but they seem to incessantly attack BU, attack Jim Les, and attack and criticize anyone who is a Bradley fan. They even seem to pepper the board with comparison to their favorite teams (Iowa, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Illinois, etc.)
Lo and behold, now that Bradley is playing 500% better than just about anyone predicted, and is demonstarting exciting, unselfish play....all those guys disappear...they have left the building.
Just do a search on the posts of those BU-bashers...and you'll see that when there is lots of good stuff to talk about they totally go into hiding. They will only emerge when there's something to bash. I am so happy just to see Bradley play so well, but as an extra added bonus, it makes the BU-bashers slip away!

            JJ

Amen, brotha! That's one helluva stat line! Plus, the fact that he was guarding a guy so much bigger?! All you bashers gotta remember what college ball is all about! Very few teams have ever had all five starters score in double figures; this ain't da pros!

Role players are imperative on every good college team. JJ seems like the kind of guy who will step up and do what is needed to help his team get a "W". If he was on a team without scorers I believe he would step up his "O" game and score close to 20.

And remember, Salley is a rookie still trying to find his role on this team. Everytime I check he seems to be a horse on the boards. The rest of his game will come. I predict by the end of the year he'll be averaging 10+ points and 6+ rebounds during conference play.

Way to go Braves! Beat Illinois!

Last night's game was like watching a tennis match. What I enjoyed the most was the dramatically improved FT shooting, especially from Zach.

I say the style of play the Braves now play is enjoyable, even if only 70 pts get scored.
I am fed up with the slow, pass and dribble for 31 seconds, then find a shot in four seconds, style.
I love what JL is doing, and it is so obvious that so do 8000 others, including the team.
They enjoy getting into this offense, and don't look like they are being force to play a style they dislike.

                    BUBraves06-
With you gone the FAMU coaches and players got off a little easier. Your collegues did a good job, but you harass with the best of them!
