I cant understand how people can sit and now want Geno's head or think he is a bad coach, he is doing what he thinks is best, just like JL he has a plan, and it will work out!
I'll second you and Chico on this!

I also believe that the buck stops at the top, PERIOD! Ultimately who is responsible for the hiring and firing. I did not like it when MO was fired or JL but will support the current coach just about, regardless.

Guys who will be around next season like WL, JP, DSE, SS seem to be good players for Geno's system.
Will be interesting to see how WL will be used next year with KaDarryl coming in.
Interesting.....because some people don't believe we have any D-1 players on this team and all players should be "run off". Maybe....possibly....those people are just setting it up in case Geno does turn things around, it can be said that he did it without any true D-1 basketball players?
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

          I agree with both.

            • 36,4% shooting tonight, and we let the worst shooting team in the league shoot 59.6%. The rest of the team besides Taylor burned up the nets hitting 12-41 shots. But some don't consider us a poor shooting team...

              • Sometimes there are reasons why a team shoots such low percentages, like maybe they pass poorly and never get open shots. Tonight we had very few open shots, and very few shots close to the basket.
Most teams have point guards who are capable of creating shots for the other players, or offenses that work the ball to players in a position to get a good shot. We don't.
How many assists did our point guard have? (answer=1)
Every shot tonight was a struggle, which should make us appreciate Taylor, who managed to shoot 8-14 on some pretty difficult shots.
Taylor was the only player to shoot over 50% tonight.

                • absolutely unmolested, wide open shots with all the time in the world to get set and measure your shots (in other words FT's) are being made at rate of 2-6, 0-3, and 2-4 rate by players who can and should hit a far, far better pct. - so I think that says something...
meanwhile we give up literally an uncountable number of wide, wide open unmolested DUNKS to every team we play - even the teams who are every bit as bad as we are like SIU.

Maybe we should hold open tryouts for more walk ons and give them a chance since I cannot believe anyone can do any worse...

                    All fair comments...

The big question is whether or not it's a lack of effort, a lack of talent, or a little bit of both.

                    • there are other things lacking or are you suggesting this is 100% the players' fault?

You only mentioned players, so I only referred to that. I didn't want to imply that you meant anything else.

                        • I extensively pointed out and documented elsewhere - one player's presence on the floor immediately changes things and the opponents' interior production and post scoring plummets dramatically -- just an easily provable observation for you to draw some of your own conclusions...
