He would of had to enroll by now because Winter Quarter already began. So next up is Spring Quarter which would mean he wouldn't be eligible until the end of the season next year. Also no scholly's available so unless Big Bro is paying the way- I don't know where he is going to be.

Pros: immediately eligible in the fall (in turn, only wasting a .5 yrs on their clock instead of 1 full yr), have some sort of degree
Cons: would have to await until at least summer to enroll at destination school (effectively losing 5 months with your new squad, coach, etc.), could reconsider and transfer elsewhere.
The only thing I see holding this up are possible issues with credit transfers all over the place. Would the player be immediately eligible for his JUCO team?

DePaul is on a quarter system and their fall quarter ends around Thanksgiving (Nov 20th). So if he does get everything in line to graduate from this juco and is accepted at DePaul, he would only be missing a couple games.
For a guy that has reportedly had trouble in the classroom, it sounds like he is going to have his hands full getting his associates degree in such a short time period.1996 & 2019

Originally posted by Da CoachCrandall Head is the kind of athlete that Oliver Purnell obviously likes. DePaul already has a number of players and incoming recruits that are very similar to him (Macari Brooks, Jamie Crockett, Brandon Young, Moses Morgan, Charles McKinney, and 2012 recruits DeJuan Marrero and Jodan Price).
What DePaul should be adding is a quality point guard, and more inside big men to compete in the Big East.
He is another very athletic guard in the same mold as so many of the players already on the DePaul roster, and very similar to Crandall Head.

He is obviously not a typical juco transfer and would be labeled as a 4-2-4 transfer. I don't know Head's gpa or credit hours, but it looks like he wouldn't meet meet the requirement of: Graduate from the two-year school and have one-calendar year elapse after you left your previous four-year school?
If the rules have changed recently or DePaul doesn't schedule any games before the end of the fall quarter, then he might not miss any games.
Just a guess, but I don't see this playing out.1996 & 2019

Head left Illinois on approximately 12/27/11.
Most schools have 8 or more games scheduled before then (Bradley played 12 games this season).
Here are the requirements for a 4-2-4 transfer taken from the NCAA rule book-
4-2-4 Transfer Requirements (I)- One calendar year lapse since departure from the previous four-year institution.
- Average 12 hours transferable degree credit per full-time term at the two-year college.
- Graduate from two-year college.
- Minimum 2.000 GPA in transferable credits.
- Division I baseball and basketball midyear transfer must wait until following academic year.

"I'm going to try to get into a junior college now," Head said. "I want to be somewhere close to home and get enough credits to get my associate's degree. If I get my associate's degree, I'll miss the first two games next year and play right away."
That's where I got the two from. My guess would be is that someone told him that they have two games scheduled before the quarter is over or that they had two games this year before the quarter was over. I don't know enough about this to know if he will be in for a rude awaking next season if he does make it that far.1996 & 2019

The saga of Crandall Head continues....
He was an incredibly promising high schooler ranked as high as TOP 40 until he hurt his knee as a senior in high school....after an interesting HS career including transfers..
He was still rated in the Top 100 by almost everyone but left Illinois...
Finally landed at SMU but has languished there and never played nor contributed much
Now reports that he is leaving SMU and will finish his senior season at Robert Morris University (NAIA) in Chicago...not the Robert Morris that is on BU's upcoming schedule Nov. 19.
