seriously -- their center, a kid named Ryan Sawville, looked like Doug McDermott last night against us -- how many wide open dunks can we give the guy - he scored about every time he touched the ball??
And I do not accept that Evansville has more talent than we do...
Prior to last night he had only played in 14 of their 17 games, was averaging 17 min per game, 3 shot attempts per game, 4.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg...
And their little guy Taylor if he'd have gotten a few more shots could have had a triple double - he had 10 rebs and 8 asst

He had a double double against Mo State (14 pts and 14 boards )
He was 3 assists short of a triple double vs Indy State (12 pts 10 boards)
Not bad for a 6 foot guard.

I, for one, am not seeing it. I have been very disapointed w/ this team as when these players were being recruited we heard how good they were but at this point they have not shown it. TB shows offensive ability but doesn't seem to play much "D"-maybe gives us 20 minutes a game of it. DSE has struggled w/ his offensive game but shows a lot of promise & seems to work on "D" but again works hard at it but then just when you really need it he slacks off. Thought GF got through to him Sunday as his D really seemed to improve. A decent player but not all conf, at least not yet. WL plays hard but is only a soph and should, probably, only be coming off the bench @ this point of his career if we had the type of players in here we should of had. JP might be decent by next year. JE works hard and is strickly a roll player off the bench on most teams. AThas finely blossemed a little but again is only a roll player on most teams. The jury is still out on SS and JC but then they are both only freshman and were both GF recruits. Beyond that the rest of this tream is low D1 or might even be D2 material and GF can't help that as he didn't recruit them

IMHO, the year one results to date make me believe that the staff can make nice defensive adjustments, but have absolutely no clue with offensive schemes.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

I would imagine Geno would be man enough to admit it ...not sure I would say he was outcoached last night and its not what I said, but give Evansville credit..they were ready and had a game plan that worked out pretty well...Peoria Toyota Scion

Also, was it the lack of our D or was it the fact that CR was on fire? I would have to say both because I seen some 25 footers w/ someone right on him and he also has a quick release. Admittedly he also had many shots where he wasn't guarded.

Looking at some highlights of Evansville basketball in the new arena, it felt like a cold place differing greatly from their old arena, which looked much cozier. I bet the seats are comfy though, along with other things. The overall atmosphere just looked kinda' blah to me from the stands down to the court.
Maybe it's the poor attendance they've drawn - especially the last one vs. BU. I always thought of Evansville fans as pretty loyal through the good times and bad. (???)
Just wondering why they built this costly facility that seems to hold a lot more than will show up from year to year, unless they are a team that contends for the Valley title.

Most of the fans as well as some of the broadcasters and team members, mentioned how cold it was near the floor. The arena is home to an ice hockey team, and the basketball floor sets over the ice rink, not much different tham at Carver. However, it seemed a little colder.
