I have liked Nate from the first time I saw him play in the exb. games, he can shoot, he is not skinny and he did a good job of fighting or banging for position down low, once his footwork improves he will be a force down low, anyone that thinks he is skinny just look at him next to Egolf,Thompson and Prosser during a timeout and compare his size with them.
It would be great if he could shoot the 3 like Tisdale did for Illinois as he would be even harder to defend.

I really don't know how much we can take away from an exhibition game as far as positioning etc. The one thing that I liked about Wells from that game was how well he ran the court for a tall guy. It sounds like he has a great work ethic which will pay off for him in the future. (fingers crossed).

I just had a flashback to Egolf shooting 3-pointers his freshman year, and I shuddered. Hope our bigs are spending more time on free throws than 3s.

Great to hear that Wells is looking good.

Good article. I have heard that his meals are gargantuan.

Said Ford: ???Nate has been far and away the second team??™s best player throughout the last month. That??™s a very encouraging sign. He hasn??™t taken many steps backward.???

Does anybody know who is on the second team? Is Sticks? Jake? Far and away better than those guys sounds pretty good. Especially if he keeps working hard for the next nine months.

Was wondering same thing...thinking it is after JE and AT since those two are rotation guys...but either way, its encouraging to see positive comments about a redshirt...do not usually seee much about them...I know I like his energy on the bench...he and WE are up and yelling alot...

I misread the quote at first, and thought it said he was far and away the second player on the team, not the best player on the second team. I got really excited, but even so, I fully expect him to be able to as much as Sticks for us next year, maybe even more.

Second team is hard to define, but I'd assume that the top 7 or 8, Starters, JE, AT and maybe Charron, are the first team. I'd assume Milos, JC, DS, DH, and Nate are on the second team.

First team: DSE,WLJ,SS,AT,TB,JP might still be there but not for long if he doesnt start playing defense hes not offensivly good enough to be so bad at the other end but hes the only somewhat inside presence we have, everyone else is 2nd team, If you go by who wears what color in practice.

I just did a google search on the Big Man Basketball Camps. Does anyone know if we will send JP or Nate Wells to one of these camps over the summer?
