Call me crazy (actually you'd have to stand in line to do so), but, I really don't care if BU players launch hook shots from half court with their eyes closed if the team is able to win games, win the Valley, and/or, goes to the NCAA's/NIT....

Don't care how, just how many...

What could be open to debate is which system/style of play can get BU more wins/titles/tourneys faster, factoring in the quantity and quality of players who can play certain systems/styles of ball and who would be willing to play for BU.

BU has tried the dominating inside game when it was able to recruit enough good big men, three point bombs away when it was able to recruit enough shooters, and high pick and roll/screen/weave when it didn't have enough good players for any particular system....

I'm open to try something else...

I'm all in on GF being able to get players quickly who can run his systems and compete at the highest level in the Valley. I'm willing to suffer mightly for 2-3 seasons to see if he can get enough players who can run his system and compete at the highest level in the Valley...Lord knows I gained tolerance to pain over the past several seasons...

But of course, I could be just crazy!

As everybody knows.... some just asked for was one more year. Nobody ask for JL to finish his contract and give him an extension (Sorry to start this again). I want to see Bradley and Geno succeed, but I'm not buying in right now. If he is going to allow this offense to be this selffish in the future, I do not see how this program comes out better than 4th place in the Valley.

Yes, I understand there are many differences on this board, but the majority must agree for ANY team to win... They need to play like a team and not 5 individuals (That is what I'm seeing right now). Let's play team ball and see what happens.

The BU men??™s basketball team lost to Wichita State 90-51 in both teams??™ Missouri Valley Conference openers on Dec. 28 at Carver Arena.

It was a defeat of epic proportions ??” the worst home loss in the Braves??™ 108-year history and the most lopsided beating in the school??™s 60-year MVC membership....
Bradley (5-12, 0-5) has gone 0-4 and has now lost eight in a row.

But the Braves have lost those other league games by a much more palatable 11 points or fewer.

We can only hope that if the Braves lose this game, at least it's a "palatable" loss.

Last year, Bradley tried to stall on offense to reduce the beating in Wichita.

That might have been the most frustrating game I saw all last year...well, aside from the Redbird losses.
We looked like we had no intention of winning - just a plan to not get blown out.
Dodie just stood in the middle of backcourt for 25 sec. and then passed it to one giy who would shoot and that possesssion was done.
Can't remember a more boring gameplan than that.

I was at that game and it was painful. Jim knew fans wouldn't like it, but he thought it would give Bradley a chance to win. He realized it didn't, and abandoned in the 2nd half of that game and never tried it again. It might have worked better if not for Wichita reserve Ben Smith's 4-4 from three point in a short stretch in the 2nd half. I can't blame Jim for trying something new, since prior to that game we were mired in a 10-game losing streak. We did bounce back after that loss and beat Creighton at home in our next game and won 6 of our next 9 games.
Maybe the threat of going back to that offense was enough to motivate our players.

I guess the gameplan DID help in the long run. Yes, good that Jimmie tried to mix it up a bit. The last 10 games I saw last year gave me hope that JL could turn things around, as it was his best stretch of games in his final 3 seasons at BU I thought. Looks like a pretty good mix of players...if everyone stayed healthy, of course.

TB, WE, JP, SM, DSE, WL, RA

I thought when SM and WL were on the court, good things happened.

We're gonna' need contributions from everyone aside from TB, DSE, WL.
I hope JP gets out of his funk tonight - needs to get that swagger back.
Without his post presence, we're that much more with our backs against the wall.

I think this team will respond well. Again, there's only so many moral victories before it gets old, but that's what I'm looking for tonight, as our chances to win are slim to none.
It's hard for me as a fan to get reved up for this game (though I know that will change come gametime), but I'm hoping our guys do.
And we need to keep improving in certain areas that have been our achilles heel:
Taking care of the ball, rebounding, free throws, defensive stops
