I feel we have a good coach (Not a great coach - Great coaches not only play in NCAA tournament games, they win some games) that has a style he likes to play.

I feel we have good players that were recruited to play in a structured offense. TB, DSE, JE, JP have the game designed for a slower, make some passes, wait for the right shot, type offense. We all see WL is a player GF loves.

If Geno is that good of a coach, why can't he adapt his coaching style to the type of players he was dealt? I love Bradley Basketball and I really want to see this team succeed - but if we continue to play "Play ground ball' with the thinking of "I will get 'me' points before my teammates will" not only is this team in tons of trouble this year.... but Bradley Basketball is in trouble down the road.

EVERYBODY on this board understands basketball....... even in a run and gun type offense, there is structure (spread it out, pass and assists are still needed, etc.)

If GF brings in his type of player and plays this type of ball - what type of future are we looking at?

How much film of Kent St. games have you watched? Do you know that none of his teams had a structured offense? Serious question because I myself have seen none of those teams. I do humbly disagree with your assessment that DSE is a slow down, structured type player though.

The problem is we have no point guard. DSE and Walt are too similar and neither should be running the point. I know we have DS but I will trust the coaches who feel like he is not ready. Just like in years past most people here trusted Coach Les when he said guys like Milos werent showing enough in practice.

I have not watched any film on Kent St.

I love DSE's shot when he is squared up and set. I don't like him driving out of control, with that said - he has made some great reverse layups over the past few years.

Milos will never be ready to play. I have seen him in practice - Can knock down the three ONLY when he is wide open and plays HORRIBLE D.

Just adapt to what was dealt to you until the run and gun type players arrive. I don't think that is alot to ask for.

we do have an awful lot of wild, out of control shots that have little chance of going in (mixed in with wild out-of-control passes that don't hit anyone) - but worse yet - if the long ones do go in (and sometimes they fall pretty well) they seem to reinforce that more of the same type should be launched...even tho our 3-pt ahooting pct is 9th in the MVC..
Our last two games (both losses) we shot 24 & 21 times from beyond the arc -
BY FAR our two highest totals on the season on 3-pt shots per game

I agree. I think the problem is, I would guess he has tried to adapt. I very much doubt that he had that kind of record playing a one on one stlye offense. In my opinion the strength of TB, DSE, WL, and SS is creating their own shot and driving the ball. Unfortunately that doesnt work when theyre all in the same line up. You ideally need one or two of them on the court with people around them that can add structure and knock down shots when the defense is drawn away. We just dont have that yet.

No broadcast TV, that's a good thing LOL. Hopefully the team has a safe trip back to Peoria.

I don't think our trouble will lie much on the offensive end, especially when we get a true PG in the system.

I'm not a guru in the X's and O's of basketball, but just watching the offense, it's exciting & effective as long as they take care of the ball, and they continue moving the ball around like they have been.

However, we need a ton of work on D, and rebounding should be a point of emphasis from here on out until we get guys that have that mentality of knowing how to rebound. It's just killin' us, especially when we have that rare good defensive stand. I'm befuddled how JP can go from 17 boards to just 2 or 3.

Beg to differ....Why would GF install an offense for one season, then scrap it once he has more players to run it. BU was going no where this season anyway. Another 5-8 win MVC season wouldn't mean anything to me.

This season gives GF an idea if any of BU players he inherited can execute his offense, and, gives existing BU players plenty of time to learn it and show BF they can cut it in game situations.

Better than GF just guessing if these players can/can't run his systems, and, not give the players a fair chance to display to him they can do it in game situations.

It also gives the players who can run GF's systems successfully more experience than starting over again next season with his new system.

Painful this year, certainly. Player turnover next year, most likely. The best way for BU to move forward, definitely.

How about get out and fast break if it's there..... If not, set up with a simple motion offense with a FEW passes and attempt a good shot?

You have to admit this current system is very selffish and not organized at all. I hope this is not what we are going to see in the future.
