Just a discussion -- does he have an NBA future??
Here are some thoughts...
He's the best player out of the Valley in a lot of years - maybe since Kyle Korver...
BUT -- is there a chance that a 6-7 or 6-8 white guy that plays below the rim is ever gonna play post in the NBA?
Will he have to morph himself into more of a Kyle Korver-like player and develop better ballhandling and consistency in making 3-pointers on the move?
In the NBA, he's not likely to get the kind of shots under the basket that currently account for 50-75% of his scoring.
Remember - players such as Adam Morrison, Gordon Hayward, JJ Redick, Joe Alexander, Morris Almond, Luke Babbitt, and others - all were great scorers in college & some were labelled the next Larry Bird and have struggled in the NBA...
Also - where Meyers Leonard is nowhere near as accomplished of a scorer - yet everyone has Leonard in the Top 10 of the next mock draft....McDermott is not in anyone's mock I say he stays four years and haunts us as much as he can...
