  • Charonn Woods - Player of the Game

Not to take anything away from TB's awesome shooting night or WL's best game of the season....

Hats off to Charonn tonight. The game seemed to change when they brought him in the 2nd half and put him on Antoine Young. He obviously frustrated Young and took him out of the game for a while. Charonn made a great defensive play after a defensive rebound leading to to a CU turnover and kept the momentum in BU's favor when he was in there. Plus, he hit scored his FIRST points of the season on the first 3 pointer of his career.

If Geno wants to really try to mix things up, I say start Charonn next game as a reward and see what happens.

For the record, TB was the announced POG, but I also congratulate Charonn for his game. He sparked the team several times, and hit the big three. He was credited with only 1 steal, but his defense lead to at least 1 or 2 more.

By the way, that was Charonn's first Three point basket of his career! It also was his career high for points scored. Previously, he only had scored 1 basket/2 points in his Bradley career (a 2-point basket against Tennessee Martin in last year's Bracket Buster game).

BU needs to do something to reward Charonn for what he has done this year!
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I mentioned this to JD during the game. He seemed to spark us in the second half and really did a nice job on defense. He really got after the ball and caused several turnovers, even if he was only credited with 1!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Charron seems to have a nice touch on his 3's, he should try shooting more of them. More of a defensive mind but doesn't mean he can't shoot it every now and then.
