JD - I respectfully think you are way wrong...and I can't imagine what it is you are seeing here that would make you even think that -- are you sure you're not confusing this board with another?? (see below)

I don't see any of the harsh criticism and demands for firing that were plentiful with JL from his 1st, 2nd and 3rd or 4th season on 'til last spring..NOTHING comparable at all..
just fair and honest questions and concerns about how we are playing and how we're being coached..

There's no way in creation you can show me a single such comment or post or call for Geno to be canned or attacking hiom with claims that he doesn't know what he's doing......

In fact once before when I asked you to cite even ONE reference you thought was critical of Geno - you searched and picked the best example you could find...
and came up with a quote of Da Coach saying he didn't believe we played all that hard in the Wichita game...

OMG -- can you see how silly you look claiming that one comment about the players not playing hard was what you were equating to harsh attacks on JL's coaching abilities and demands for him to be canned?

BUT -- here's a quote I culled (copied and pasted as a direct quote) from the "other board" from one of the most frequent posters over there. who the fans there accept as some kind of expert....

"Shayok Shayok has absolutely no idea what he is doing out there..
.. Bradley has athleticism, just not a good shooting team, defensive team, passing team, or deep team.
It will be a couple years but I have some hope Geno Ford knows what he is doing."

Hmmm.. so I guess if you're looking for harsh criticism of the players and of Geno -- you're looking on the wrong board - these comments are from the folks on the PJS board.

I'm right with you.

My expectations with GF will be pretty low until his 3rd season for many of the reasons you mentioned. As long as he runs a clean program and the kids stay out of trouble, I can be patient for a couple years. It's far too early for me to get upset with GF.

I think the problem lies with the tone of many posts not just by you but by others here. You cannot deny that your posts and others are much more negative in tone than at any time in past seasons. I'm positive that you can see this and I would hope that you could understand why that would rub some people the wrong way. But hey, we dont have to read it, right?

Truth is that I am one of the most positive, 100% fully supporting fans Bradleybasketball has and if you happen to think otherwise, that's fine but you obviously know nothing about which you speak.

Who says your posts last year were negative? And if some do, what does that have to do with me and the people I'm referencing? I dont think you were negative last year or any year under Coach Les. That was the entire basis of my post. What is it that I need to get straight? And you cited that "It will be a couple years but I have some hope Geno Ford knows what he is doing" is somehow a harsh criticism of Coach Ford.

As I noted again and again -- I have challenged anyone to cite even one thing that I have said negatively about the coaches or players, and everyone hims & haws, and comes up with nothing yet,

remember - many people thought enough of DSE & TB to list them as preseason all-conference players...
plus four of the players who were sure to be returning were starters (TB, DSE, JP, WL)..and even Jake had plenty of experience and had started some games...

Huh? Where did I say you were negative? I said I think too many people were comparing a 1st year coach with a 9th year coach.

again -- I claim victory -- all I am doing is defending the players against the attack that they were worthless and comprised an "empty cupboard"

they were decent players and it's easy to prove that they would have been starters on other Valley teams as well...

If you want to draw some bizarre conclusion as to what you read into that statement then how can you hold that on me?
People ask me all the time how I can remain so optimistic and positive in a season like this...I wear my Bradley gear and start up conversations all day long with folks about Bradley basketball and my love for this team, players, coaches, etc.....and so that's why it contrasts so vividly with the few message board attackers who try to find something wrong in everything they see!

To be fair, many posts here disappear...mine included. In fact, one of mine just did. If I asked people to quote everything I said, it would be impossible. Some are deleted.

I don't think it's disappointing at all. I see this as the beginning of a turnaround. I enjoy watching them play.

If you don't want to watch this disappointing season, I know some people who would love to use some free tickets!

Why do you continue to phrase it "1st year coach vs. 9th year coach?" It is very simple = Jim Les vs. Geno Ford (There = is everybody happy I used Geno??).

This comparision is not fair to classify 1 vs. 9. Geno has been in coaching all his life, with his fathers background.

And the "Cupboards bare" is complete BS. These are good players that was handed to GF. Cupboard was bare when Stan Albeck and Mo McCone left town. They have admitted they stopped recruiting the previous year because they thought they were going to San Antonio for the Spurs job and did not get the offer in the 11th hour. That is a bare cupboard. Not this year!!
