I think if you're on a team with Geno, you have to be either quick or smart. The guys on the bench that don't see much of the floor lack at least 1 of these.Comment

His shot looks pretty fluid to me too. I agree that he should play more, and causes more trouble for the PG to penetrate. Even if he doesn't score, he proabably makes our offense a bit better and I would think his defensive aggressiveness feeds off on the other players when they're on the court with him.Originally posted by mrcoachdude View PostComment

I agree, but I think the idea of paying someone to be on the team means they are someone who can contribute. If the guys we have are not good enough to contribute over a guy walking the quad, AND not redshirting, then we are wasting money. DS and DH are not playing and not redshirting. Seems like pretty worthless seasons to me. Not worthless individuals mind you, but worthless investments.Originally posted by mrcoachdude View Post

Charron Woods was a pretty good player in high school but got only D-II attention and wanted to go to school and get a good pre-med education so he chose Bradley and tried to walk on (not "invited") as a freshman...
he was not accepted as a walk on that year and served as team manager -- but as he played more and his skills developed, he was granted status as a non-scholarship (walk-on) player in his sophomore year.
Charonn is currently a senior and will graduate on time but he still has a year of athletic eligibility remaining since he didn't play his freshman year - but there's no way he would stay and pay his own way to be a walk-on --
If a scholarship arose and he was offered (unlikely) then he might consider staying..Comment

The players you cited are freshmen. Who knows what will happen with their spots in the future, but not every freshman contributes to the team in year one. +1 and sometimes not even Sophomores contribute much but become standout Seniors. Some of you guys are a bit harsh on these guys. I'll keep faith that GF is doing the right things with player development. The one player I'm most worried about is MK. In my little experience, freshmen that don't redshirt usually see some minutes. All I am saying is we have two that do not, and I think that is a concern.Comment
