Creighton hit 60% of their shots...
Drake missed most everything - Rice & Madison combined for 2-17!!
WIU wins again and goes to 7-5 and 2-2 in the league..
This is a big improvement from last year - as they won only 7 ALL YEAR in 2010-2011, and won only 2 conference games the entire season!
...so anything short of losing every remaining game will mean a nice improvement for Coach Mo...
and did anyone see the ending of the Michigam State-Wisconsin game...
Wisconsin rallied from 6 pts down over the final 10 seconds or so and nailed what appeared to be a game tying 3-pointer at the buzzer (in D-overtime)
but something happened that I have never seen before.....the clocks are calibrated to shows tenths of a second BUT....
the clock on the overhead scoreboard and the clock on the top of the backboard were DIFFERENT...and they differed by about 0.3 (3/10) second...
and different replays showed them both...
and the shooter DID release the ball before the overhead clock expired, but it was still in his hands 0.3 seconds earlier when the backboard clock turned to 0.0!
So the clocks (it was at Wisconsin - so blame their own time-guys) - were NOT synchronized...and it may have cost them, as the refs concluded
that the shot ON THE BACKBOARD turning to 0.0 was the official determiner - so the shot was waived off...and Wisconsin loses a critical home game against the league's top team..
Wisconsin's Bo Ryan could plainly be seen saying a few nice things to the refs - including one clear statement that both started and ended with two words m... f....!
Even tho the game was over - the rules DO allow refs to issue technicals until they leave the floor - so I really feel Bo deserved a "T" - but the refs let him slide becasue the game was over.
