Halftime score- Xavier 42 SIU 36
Jeff Early is not listing in the box score. Anyone know why?
Mamadou Seck, who is SIU's leading scorer and rebounder had only 2 points and 2 rebounds in the first half. Justin Bocot, their 2nd leading scorer also had only 2 points, and Diamond Taylor is scoreless.

Boy, who's scoring their points then? Seems like their bench is keeping them in the game.

Interesting statement by SIU coach Chris Lowery - keep in mind that his point guard is his own cousin Kendall Brown-Surles...

"(Xavier's) Tu Holloway is an NBA guy," SIU coach Chris Lowery said.
"That's the difference between their club and our club. Their thinker is an NBA guy.
He never wavered (or) got shook up and he ran the team."

so - of all the differences one could find between 14th ranked Xavier and 340th ranked SIU - he cites ONLY ONE DIFFERENCE and that's Xavier's "thinker" is an NBA guy and ran the team while his is guy must not be a thinker and didn't run the team?

Who knows for sure how that interview went. Maybe that's the only part they printed. I think he's recognizing a very good player from Xavier more than knocking his own

I was never an SIU fan but I reallllllllllllllllllllllllly sympathize with them during this time of extremely poor judgement by the people who hire and have the ability to, if not the balls, to FIRE a coach. Take your financial hit and hope for the best in the future. Have you ever heard of delayed compensation (NOT A LONG TERM CONTRACT) for a new coach? Lowery is the ultimate RichardHead. How many years after he is gone will the recruiting still suffer because of his actions?

either way, lefty, this simply does not endear CLo to his fan base...

at one point Lowery's career record as head coach was...78-26 and Lowery was the hottest commodity...the envy of a few posters on this board who claimed we should have gotten him..
now it's 140-101 and he couldn't get a job at a juco - he has recruited gobs of D-II caliber players and thugs that had to be sent packing, makes terrible in-game coaching mistakes, and lined SIU up for years of continued poor play with the incapable players he has.
