For those who need a fix of Jimmer mania..
thus far in his two exhibition games he's averaging 16.5 ppg & 67% shooting from behind the NBA arc..

In his first exhibition game Jimmer went 7-11 and 4-6 from 3-pt range, 21 pts, 4 asst, 4 rebs

then last night he helped the Kings beat the Warriors as he went 4-9 and 2-3 from 3-pt for 12 pts, 4 asst, 3 rebs

Sports Illustrated's Rick Reilly has decided to go ahead and pay up on a $5000 vow that Jimmer would not survive in the NBA.

Wins and losses mean nothing in the preseason. Stats mean very little as well. Sac's roster looks like a total mess. The roster looks a lot like Utah where they have a bunch of players that probably don't fit well together.

Jimmer's defense in the NBA is my big question about him. He can clearly shoot the lights out, but IDK if he can stop anyone. He should be exciting to watch either way.

Since when do they play defense in the NBA? I'm sure the League would love it if Jimmer put up 30+ points a night and the games ended 120-115 or something.

Playoffs. Det and Boston both won largely based on defense. It was also a big reason that Chi was much better last year (Rose improving helped too). Golden State put up a lot of points last year, but they weren't good and weren't on TV much.

He won't consistently put up 30+ per night at least not this year. Very few players can do that. Jimmer isn't starting either.

The NBA is a star-based league. If he plays well and is entertaining, it won't matter if the score is 90-85 or 120-110. Sac was really bad last year and should be really bad again this year, and it will probably be really hard to see any of their games without NBA League Pass. I only saw 1 game scheduled on TNT.

I'm a huge Jimmer fan and believe on the right team the guy could really help a team. I'd have to believe he's a better player then Steve Kerr or Paxon and they both had a nice career. The guy can flat out shoot and has a pretty good handle.

followup on Jimmer - the Sacramento fans are used to getting disappointed but they at least were hopeful they could see a guy who came with some hype & legend in Jimmer...

BUT Sacramento just hired a new head coach Keith Smart last season and this is his first full season - and Smart seems bound and determined to NOT do what anyone else wants him to do or expects him to do...
I guess it's a coach's prerogative but fans are getting a little ticked....

First - Sacramento isn't fooling anyone and they are the 2nd worst team in the west with only New Orleans at 12-36 doing worse.
...and oddly as Jimmer's playing time has diminished, so have the chances for a Kings win....they have now lost 15 of their last 22 games (since early Feb.)

Second - Jimmer is doing WELL when he does play .. hitting 38% of his 3-pointers (the BEST on the entire team, 5th best among all NBA rookies, and at least close to the leaders in the league) - and , 90% of his FTs (best on team and would be Top 5 in NBA if he had enough to qualify), and averaging 7.4 ppg (Top 15 among rooikies), 2 apg, and a 2:1 A/T ratio (both are top 10 among rookies).

but he's only getting about 18 minutes per game on average and several recent games his paying time has dropped to just 6 to 8 minutes.

BUT - most significantly - he is a VERY popular player and people say often and loudly that they come just to see him -- and everyone agrees that alone shouldn't determine a guy's playing time - but still if the people don't see who they come to see - guess what???

Attendance is dropping...
All their games earlier were drawing 14-16K...rarely even 17K...
but over the past couple weeks numnbers are now down except for premier opponents - and they've drawn their TWO lowest crowds (11K) in their past two home games vs. Memphis & Utah.
An identical mid-week game against Utah 2 weeks ago drew 14K..

now just a little controversy is brewing...
-Jimmer's brother gets publicly involved in complaining about Jimmer not playing

The SAC roster is a mess, but he has to play behind Tyreke Evans and Isiah Thomas, who has been playing fairly well recently. The team is fairly guard heavy, and Franciso Garcia and John Salmons still take a lot of playing time (along with Marcus Thornton).

Jimmer's offense wasn't as big of a question as his defense and size. Sac isn't a good fit for him.

Maybe someday he can end up on the same team as Tyler Hansbrough. That should make a lot of people happy.
