Best I saw- Hersey Hawkins(lucky enough to get to know well and consider a friend) and as good as he was, was also one of the most genuine people I've ever met...
Braveman...on the money for me! Got most of my favorites there...but Hawkins was really good with my kids...I have a few pictures of him chatting with them...he took the time to just sit and talk with them about hoops...

Hersey and J.J.Anderson are in a tie for me, close to them would be Al Smith,L.C.Bowen,C.Criddle,J.Carruthers ,M.Williams,V.Winters and I could go on and on , the history of Bradley Basketball use to be so rich in the great players that use to go up with the greatest teams in the country , can only hope that we are headed back to those glory days.

Hersey & JJ would be mine in a tie. They could both do so much w/a BB that very few could do. The video they showed at the ceremony @ the on campus game really brought back the fact of how great JJ really was. He could do it all. HH was just a pure shooter and so "smoooth".
Also several others are not far behind. AP, JC, AW, RP, MW, "the Sheriff", "Goldmines", DR, & MS are just a few but none compared to the other 2 and I wasn't around Peoria when Walker, Allen, or Frankie played because I know they would be there w/ the other 2 from what I have heard.

Hmmm.... not a lot of hometown love in this discussion. Since I saw a lot of his play when I was a kid and he was someone that you could count on for 3's and COULD MAKE FREE THROWS my choice is Aaron Zobrist.
Well let me just quote the late-great Colonel Sanders, who said..."I'm too drunk to taste this chicken."

                            Since the question asks...
"Who is your NUMBER ONE, ALL-TIME BU PLAYER."

I can interpret that to mean either #1 best or #1 favorite...
..and also anyone might choose to limit only to those players he's actually seen and has knowledge of thus none (or few outside of Wizard) of us can harken back to the Ted Panish days or Squeaky days...

So I will answer this way...

#1 best that I have ever personally seen - Joe Allen -
I know even some who saw Joe may not rank him #1, but he was a gifted athlete and the hardest worker I have ever seen and few can deny his name has to be mentioned among the best.

#1 favorite - well this is hard - but not too hard -- I am going to list in order my top 10 favorites and they are all photo-finish close....
Sammy, Hersey, Jimmy, JJ, Barney Mines, Gene Morse, Joe Allen, Cal Criddle, Al Smith, and finally a dead heat for 10th between Ryan Phillips & Ryan Thornton - both of whom I had the pleasure to coach briefly back in elementary school.

Squeeky was my idol during my grade school playing days. I was in the service for most of Chet's BU career. Hersey was the best I ever saw in a Brave uniform. Others I would include would be Anthony Parker, Paul Unruh. Even though they're not in the list of all time scorers, 2 of my all time favorites would be Gene Morse and Bob Swigris.
