A couple of things I see watching a reply.

We actually don't have to slow down much in the half court. When we slowed just a little good things happened

We also made some decent passes and never made the shots or couldn't handle the pass

I think Geno's style will help recruiting and if we can get the best athletes, we will do very well in the Valley. Just not sure this will give us an edge come tourney time against non-Valley teams. Geno doesn't have all the pieces yet, but he will get there. I believe!
Good. Maybe we can steal a recruit or two from North Carolina. They like that type of offense too!

You have to play the hand you are dealt. Without going into which players are whose recruits, other than Prosser, the remaining starters are slashing type players. He's spreading the floor to allow for 1 on 1 play other than a few pick & rolls and back screens for Prosser. If BU converts on several of the offensive rebounds in the first half and converts the many bunnies, their may have been more pressure on Mich down the stretch. Personally, I think that GF is maximizing what he has, my only complaint is that he stayed with the zone a little too long in the 2nd half. Would have preferred to see more man mixed in to keep them off balance.

One of the reasons I liked the hire of Coach Ford was his ability to adjust and scheme for the talent he has. This team is a team of slashers and scorers. I was impressed with how we competed tonight. The team has been well prepared and ready to play in most of the game, I believe that once Coach Ford has his own players in place that BU will be a very good team and very hard to beat!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

This is the "is what it is".

I agree. Once they start to shoot you out of that zone, you have to switch back to man quicker. When teams run a little cold and start missing threes, it can lull you into a false sense of security.

It also looked like we were fatigued then too. It seems when you are tired and playing zone you tend to relax more than playing man IMO. they had a couple of passes inside where Pross and AT were late getting to and the perimeter guys just didn't move quick enough when Michigan rotated the ball

With lack of depth we may always struggle later in the second half this year.

Yes, I think this is a big part of what transpired in the second half. All of our starters played over 30 minutes, and we got much less contribution from our bench (only 1 basket) than we have gotten in any other game this year. It appeared to me that tiredness was a factor later in the second half.

Did anybody notice DSE come to the bench in mid 1st half.... he was drenched with sweat. Those boys gave a hard 30 minutes and had nothing left. Too bad it's a 40 minute game. After we hit a 3 to tie the game in the 2nd half, you could tell we had spent everything and BLUE was ready to take over.

Seems like too many are complaining about the offense which scored 66 points on the road and several shots that were in and out of the basket, sure the offense revolves around 1 on 1 movement on the offensive end but that is why we spead the floor more so these guys can use their 1 on 1 skills to their advantage, it is nice to have players that are able to get their own shot as it makes that player much harder to guard, because we are now making more 3 pointers we are becoming a team that is a lot harder to guard, Geno is doing a good job with the teams lack of depth.

I think there are still some talented players on the bench who might have helped - Charron Woods, DS....

A very good game by the Braves and easy to see what we still have to work on...

                          -3-pt defense
-we need to pass the ball around a little better
-let's not get so excited when we score 2 pts that we give up 2 on a technical

but if we play like that we will beat plenty of teams still this year...

The announcers talked plenty about how Bradley uses way too many 1 on 1 moves and solo play and simply doesn't pass at all on many possessions.
Is this the way we're going to play the rest of the season or are we working on that?

I have to hand it to the Big Ten Network and their announcers. They do a pretty good job of not making it a Big Ten love fest when they do games with teams out of conference. They did a fair share of talking about BU and never really in a negative way and at least gave the presentation that they were unbiased. They really seemed to enjoy the Bradley brand of basketball they were watching.

The other thing I thought was really cool is when they showed the Michigan lockeroom at halftime. The assistants were spouting off stats and they showed what the gameplan was going forward. I wish we had the capability to do that with MVC TV. I think it would be really interesting to see what the home team talks about at the half.

they were very complimentary of BU and at one point mentioned that BU is picked last in the MVC and so that must mean the Valley "stacked"..

He might not have said that if he had watch the SIU game

Kelser also said in the first half he like their half court sets too...and then the second half he talked about the one on one........like I said before when they slowed down just a little BU had some good results.
