I agree, I would rather see the offense work and get assist.(Same on the defensive end-help D)

For now I will be happy with a decent performance.

The announcers were great, and a great effort by the Braves to keep the game within 11 points! I really believe now that we may be able to upset one or two of the teams in the upper half of the Valley if we can put that kind of an effort each game. Can't go through stretches though were we get stuck on numbers and give up 3 or 4 quick turnovers. We don't have that much margin for error.

Bradley playing with 5 individuals. We have 5 guys trying to get their points. This could be Bradley's downfall this year. Individual play vs. Team play!
Which is exactly why I have been complaining about our offensive sets (lack thereof all year)

The good-- I think for the most part, this is the best game we have played so far this year. It appears to me that we have adjusted on our offense by slowing things down a little. As a result, we are more controlled and not forcing things as much. Shayok starting to come around which is much needed.

The bad: What I highlighted above... Too much one on one... Give me a team concept vs a one on one concept any day.

IMHO, Michigan is a little overrated. I don't think that they are a top 20 team. Top 30 seems more realistic.

and until we do we'll continue to have a high TO margin, very little assists and continue to play our offense like a bad NBA team. I did not watch this game but the stats are reflective of what I read on this board. Time to try something else at point if we want to win. Glad to hear that TB was his old self! 2 offensive rebounds and 2 blocks! That is what I'm talking about. He is best when he works all assets of his game.

Would be nice to have a true point guard distribute to players that can finish.

We didn't beat anyone from the Southern Conference with that offense. I doubt it'll fare well against a better conference.

I understand this team has a few deficiencies, but definitely something to build upon. I know many are not fans of the run-and-gun, one-on-one offense, but top HS recruits love this style of ball. I think Geno's style will help recruiting and if we can get the best athletes, we will do very well in the Valley. Just not sure this will give us an edge come tourney time against non-Valley teams. Geno doesn't have all the pieces yet, but he will get there. I believe!

We need a bunch of different players if you guys want impactful play from a point guard. I don't care if John Stockton was on this team, TB, WL, DSE, and SS all put the ball on the floor as soon as they receive a pass. Jake is the only guy on the team who attempts to catch and shoot from time to time. There just arent any pure shooters on this roster who are comfortable with shooting the ball without putting it on the floor first. Obviously, we have kids who are much more proficient at slashing and scoring. Even Prosser's first instinct is to put the ball on the floor. Nathan Taphorn could be a great catch and shoot scorer at Bradley if Geno can get him signed.

Just for the record... I am a fan of a more "run-and-gun", uptempo style... however, not a big fan of a "one-on-one", all-about-me/nba style.

Anyone interested in nba-style one-on-one can watch the NBA. Anyone interested in slow-ball can watch Slow Mo's WIU Leathernecks.

While our current 1 on 1 may not be the most ideal system for every team, I do think its best for this group of players. We are just not great passing and catching, so 1 on 1 limited turnovers tonight, and I think that was a good game plan.

Agreed. Unfortunately, the point guard we thought we might have had is in St Louis tonight.

Agreed. I am amazed that BU competed that long tonight. Bring the effort every night and good things will happen.

We simply don't have all of the pieces in place to run a traditional offense. We are who we are this year. We are not a spot up and shoot it team. Until we get more help inside, hopefully next year, this is our offense. This is a team that is at times both exciting and exasperating to watch. I've always enjoyed roller coatser rides. The effort has been great so far. Better free throw shooting and taking better care of the ball will result in giving ourselves a better chance to win. Let's go beat them Shockers!

But again, despite all of this we stay within 11 of a top 20 team on their home court which is encouraging when it comes to games against WSU, UNI and CU at least in Peoria. If we continue to play this "offense", we don't have a lot of room for error, and yet we have not been blown out too many times this year. Who would have thought that!
