The new ABA is up and running (the Midwest Flames were in the American Basketball League but folded) and here are some news items...

There are literally dozens of team organized into different conferences and they've been playing games since November..

-The top ranked team in the ABA are the undefeated Los Angeles Slam and they have one player who is an ex-Peorian and ex-NBA player - Mike Penberthy - who played on the Lakers with Shaq and who attended Peoria Christian School in the late 1980's.
The Slam also boast two 7-footers - 7-2 Jim Waco & 7-3 Keith "Boss" Closs - who just had a 25 point/23 rebound/7 block game

The Chicago team (Chicago Steam) has a few familiar players Justin Cerasoli and ISU's Rico Hill and LaPhonso Ellis, Jr.

Milwaukee has Fletcher DuPree - ex-Merfeld recruit @ UE

Phillip Gilbert is listed on the roster of the St. Louis Pioneers

but one thing for sure - all these teams should update their web sites so someone can actually find something...
