Haha, ok. You caught me! So Walt was tied in turnovers for the Wyoming game, Tied in shots attempted for the Northeastern game, and led the team in turnovers for the Drexel game.

Walt has led the team in shots OR turnovers 3 times

Brown has led the team in shots OR turnovers 10 times

DSE has led the team in shots OR turnovers 6 times

Prosser has led the team in shots OR turnovers 4 times

So let me phrase this correctly this time. Walt is "consistently leading the team in shots taken or turnovers"? Not that I can see.

Now, if you want to point to the fact that Walt has been leading the team in shot attempts and turnovers in the last 4 games, that's another thing. That would require you to actually specify that you meant within the last four games. The Wyoming game was awful. Walt, Pross, and DSE all had 5 turnovers, so it's not like Walt's shots or turnovers lost that game. Everyone played poorly.

BUT, the Wyoming game aside, I would say, and I know most would agree, that our last 3 games have been the BEST basketball we have played all year. It would be ridiculous to single Walt out for his play the last few games when he has clearly been the best player on the court. I don't understand why Walt's shot attempts would be scrutinized in any of these games. His turnovers are also a bi-product of his lightning quick pace. They're going to happen. They also happen to many other point guards and ball handlers. To see that Walt has only led his team in turnovers for 2 of the 10 games so far is a testament to his point guard play, which he is learning on the fly.

Because change is difficult; the status quo is the easy way out.

        • Goodness!!!!!!!!! We were picked LAST in The Valley
We just went out east and beat a team who was favored by 9 1/2 and picked to finish in the mid range of a very good mid major conference, on their court..
We then go into Philly and play a team favored by 7 1/2, who is picked to WIN another very respectable mid major conference on their home Court.
Incidentally, this team is giving up only 56.8 points a game.
We hang 68 on them and are tied with 2:40 to go.
          We lose by 5.
Yet folks constantly pick this coach and team apart.
IMO, this team is rapidly improving game by game and I can only believe that the coaching staff has played a large part in this.
I have seen improvement in several players that I thouigh would finish their careers as extremely mediocre. Once again I credit the coaching staff.
PLEASE put your vendettas aside and enjoy the future. Riding in our brand new Ford and company team. It will be special!

I am with this post 100%, what do some of these so called fans expect? We have gotten better and that is what I thought everyone was hoping for at the start of the season, this team deserves more support .

I'm with you guys! I think the majority of BRADLEY fans feel the same way we do. It's about school and team.

I have always liked the idea if he gets the ball in the post and the shot isn't there right away to pass back out and reset a little deeper and get the ball back. Typicvally when player gets rid of the ball his defender relaxes a little and gives him a chance to get deeper in the post....in any event it seems the longer he holds the ball the odds of Pross scoring diminish
If his true position is the 5, then at his height, he's playing at the wrong level.

Is that your opinion or a statement of fact? If it's the latter, I'd love to see some documentation.

That wouldn't be the first time I've seen it said we have players on this team that aren't D1 players.

I'm of the opinion that there's more than one "tweener" on this roster.

Maybe I misinterpreted what some where saying. I agreed with DC that cutting and setting up high percentage shots might not be a bad way to try to get more baskets. Pounding the ball in doesn't work with the personnel we have, but isn't trying to score off a fast break type of offensive scheme just another form of that? The difference here is that instead of passing the ball inside you have one person running inside and taking a quick shot. I think that's the type of offense Geno is running, and that best suits the personnel we have.

It's interesting to see the various interpretations of this offense on this board. Some posters have stated this is essentially the same system he ran at Kent St. that led them to two MAC regular season championships and deep NIT runs. Some posters say that he should slow things down via setting screens and passing to open up high percentage shots. But others have said what good would that do since our players would still miss the bunnies they have been. So I find it fascinating how many different interpretations of Geno's coaching philosophy make this board.

I think he is doing what he can with his system, and there has been some improvement. Nobody said we are going to even the NIT this year. But we still have a great chance to finish better than we did last year, though admittedly it will be a lot tougher once we get to Michigan and beyond. But this team still has a shot at double digit wins, and maybe even a .500 record with a little luck.

I don't know about anyone else, but I for one am going to sit back and enjoy the ride, good or bad.

I find it absurd to think there are ANY scholarship players on this team that shouldn't be playing basketball on ANY of the 340+ D1 basketball teams!

Just for clarity's sake, I didn't say that there are players on the Bradley roster that wouldn't be on any other D-I team.

I just happen to believe that there isn't as much of a gap between the top tier D-III players in the country and guys like Jake Eastman and Donivine Stewart as some would think.

So are you saying that there are coaches who believe they can win by having their players go 1 on 5? Please give an example of a college coach that plays that way and has been successful.
