Great effort and comeback by the Braves. Just like most of our games, the interior defense was a little weak and allowed DU to get too many easy shots and rebounds. Hopefully we can tighten that up. 1-1 on the road trip isn't bad.
Let's all get out and support this team Tuesday night against Western Carolina!

Great effort by Eastman to take a big chunk of the 16 point deficit but didn't take 1 shot since that span.

Good effort overall though, wasn't expecting to win this one.

      Jason
He took a shot and was fouled to go to the line in the final seconds and went 1 for 2.

good games by Walter and Jake...not much help from the rest[/QUOT

Good comeback, but the rest of the team needs to shoot better. Same drill, different day.

Yes, for two reasons. We need to get back over .500, and for payback after what they have done to us for the last two years!

Free throws hurt us at the end, great comeback and fight shown in todays game, nice to see Jake playing so well , also Crawford gave us some help, DSE and Taylor were off offensively today but because we are getting more scoring from other players they don"t have to shoulder everything now on the offensive end.
This team is getting better and just needs to get better starts at the beginning of the 2nd half.

Very true. Now W. Carolina is a must win for the reasons I listed above, and because Michigan is coming up right after that. All things considered, 6-6 heading into the toughest part of the Valley schedule isn't all that bad if we can get there.

And maybe someone can come up with the reason we seem to start each half so slowly. I think both halves started something like 11-2 in favor of Drexel.

Glad I watched that one through. Good job Walt and Jake, where was TB? I love how this team never gives up, I think that will help when this team comes into full stride in the next year or so.
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

True statement, have been wondering the same thing, sure Geno is trying to figure out why we keep getting ourselves into a hole like this as it makes it so much harder to comeback and win.
The positive sign is we are getting better as a team and more players are contributing .
The negative sign is DSE, Prosser and Taylor are not contributing as much as we need them to offensively, Prosser is missing easy layups, Taylor seems to be forcing shots instead of getting himself into better position to make shots, DSE has not been able to get open shots and therefore not getting many shots.
This could be a decent season as long as we keep improving and playing hard , was impressed with the way are players fought on the road against good competition, keep up the good work as you got bear barely by a pretty good team.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a BU player as quick, fast and explosive as Walt. Wow!

Very proud of them for coming back - no quit -- we just need to use uor talent for 40 minutes per game

I hope you didnt turn over to the BTN....you missed a heck of a comeback by the Braves and a close game to the end while the Illini looked awful and lost.

I don't know of any real Bradley fans who would choose watching the BTN over their own team but maybe that's just the fans I know.

Nice comeback by the Braves but too little in the end. As DC mentioned have to clean up the first few minutes of the half, and second half in particular. Im really glad Geno didn't listen to many experts on the message boards and sit Walt earlier in the season and again today. He has been BU's best player recently. The inside players have to find a way to get it done. Three or four times nice passes were made inside and the big guys either fumbled it or missed point blank shots.

Congrats to Jake for shooting the ball so well. He is a really huge threat when he does that.

I hope there isnt a game on the BTN network Tuesday night and some Bradley fans will make it out to the game.

Real fan made a great point in that DSE and TB are making contributions other than point totals. --see their contributions on the box score of the game!

I would have highlighted Real fan's comments, but I didn't want RF's comments to get mixed into what I am about to post.

I haven't posted on post game links as I haven't seen us play. I have listened on the radio, but IMO, it isn't fair to critique what I think is going on unless I see it for myself. That being said....

Free throws are only one reason we lost the Drexel game. Shot selection and our absolutely terrible offensive schemes lost this game tonight and very much contributed to the 17 point deficit in this game. I watched this game very closely, and if we had a staff that had a clue about offensive schemes, we could have shaved 5 turnovers and had an additional 10 points to that game. Dribble penetration can only get this team so far. This team needs to learn and be instructed on how to PASS THE BALL AROUND to get a good open shot!!!!!!! Watching us on offense is like watching a dog chase its tail.

I will give the staff credit for drawing up a very good play that enabled Jake to hit the three point shot late in the game and for creating an atmosphere that makes this team to never give up. If only this staff could coach smarter on offense

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
